I thought that but the original Sega sticker in that pic does say 'Model Name 29E31SJ' on it. Must be a bit rare to see a 29E31S using a Toshiba crt from the factory?es31 use shanghai novel tubes, unless someone has done a yoke swap

Under half, but not right down.is that the screen volts at minimum?
Just tried it with it down to where I can barely seen the screen. Powered on the signal to VGA and the monitor cuts out.well turn it down until picture is almost black then retry vga signal

I've used it before on this monitor, but will use a signal from a pc that I have running in another Naomi tomorrow.sounds like an issue with the res from the xbox, do you have anything else with 31khz signal
Old flyback wasn't powering up at all in the end. I've gone over pretty much all of the board with fresh solder.same fault you had with original flyback?
you must have a bad connection or solder joint somewhere
I'm pretty sure it will have kept those settings from previous but it could have reset as it's not had a display when powering on for last few times. Is your Xbox vga resolution set to 640 x 480 ?
You might have it on 800x600
29e won’t go above 640x480
