Just wanted to say thanks for coming over to all you guys it was a good laugh, and for all the kind words said in this thread on both this forum and Jamma+
Some of you had a bit of a drive too so ta for making the effort!
Sorry some of you couldn't stay for long/longer but thanks for still making it.
It was great to meet you all new and old, it was nice to see the machines getting used and hammered by people who love playing these old games.
Sorry if I seemed a bit distant to any of you I didn't mean to be...but it was a bit like "party host syndrome" where you run around worrying that people are ok having a good time, feed and watered, also I was swapping boards here and there or trying to keep the odd one working it just made it a bit harder to relax, I got better as the day went on.
Whenever I'm on my own in the garage the games get a good thrashing, however whenever others come over I never seem to play on them much, I think I could count on one hand the number of go's I had on Saturday, instead the enjoyment lies in watching people use the games I spent hours on keeping alive and well.
Big thanks from me to my other half as without her I wouldn't have been able to keep you all feed and watered, and she thanks you for all the kind words and about her cooking of cake skills.
I understand that her toffee cakes will now be my only entry currency to any further meets.
I was amazed at the skill level of all of you, we all seem to love these games so much that naturally good scores started coming out very quickly, even if the game had not been played by you for a number of years.
Karl and Andy C are just too damn good at R-type.
And thanks to the track and field session I've learnt a few new tricks.
Well done Phil for picking a little gem of a Chinese resturant that I'd never been to in my own home town (he'd been there before)
I had never gone in probably because it looked like such a dive from outside, however it served awesome food! Well you know how it goes "Never judge a book.....yadda yadda!" So true that saying.
Sorry we didn't get more board testing and diag time, would have loved to look at Roger's Robocop 2 board with a eprom programmer to see if we could have got it running properly, maybe we should do a 'fix what we brung' meet next time?
Smidsy cheers for taking a few picks nice!
Beaps thanks so much for the kind present of the chair/stool that's really good of you.
Si thanks for picking up the pizzas on the way over.
Hopefully I'll see some of you again for local hook up's and maybe at the 'South Coast Slam' in April.
Cheers guys and your more than welcome to call in anytime your passing through!
I'm gonna sign off as a 90's rapper and say....
Peace out!
