Very very nice

I would like a popeye if the space permitted, sadly it doesn't and YES to the Ply wood, that will last in any conditions, The original Taito cabs were ply and there must be a reason for it too, alot of the sitdown machines are made from Ply, the Sega Rail Chase is, Chase HQ and Continental Circus are both Ply, solid and alot lighter than the Chipboard, full cockpit machine isn't much heavier than the uprights

Wow that turned out fantastic! Such a great job Dave, nice one!

I see what you mean about the monitor angle, think it's laying a bit too flat. Maybe Alex could take a look at his and advise?

I made up the monitor angle tbh.
I actually moved it to this position from a steeper angle.

theres only 6 screws holding it up so its easy to move.

Its also rotatable like a traditional jamma cab!

Another thing I did was allowed for quick swapping of CP's.

I made 2 blank CPs and painted them for future use.

Here is the quick swap connector.

So the CP is wired to a male 28 pin plug!

Brilliant that would be great. I built a nintendo replica a few years ago using the jackobud plans which are incorrect in places, mostly too tall. It would be good to have some more accurate plans for the second build I'm planning.

What width plywood did you use?

Its great having access to a fully equipped joiners shop,it makes any job like this a hell of a lot easier...I'm doing a scratch Robotron (euro) and I have full access to a well kitted out joiners shop (I'm a joiner by trade) and your choice of material (Birch Ply) is a superb choice

.....That is what i'm using as well (18mm Birch Ply) top quality boarding

I went with 15mm birch ply.
As russ said it's lovely material.
One problem I ran into was the repo Nintendo tmolding from mikes arcade. It's imperial and comes out at 15.8mm so I had to make a jig to trim the .8mm off and off set the slot to get it right. Took ages but was worth it.
Paint is also important!
I used a two part polyurethane paint.
2 coats on primer.
Also sanded before and after primer and any nicks/dents filled with isopon and resanded!
A friend of mine is in the paint trade so he mixed it for me.

I've a hankering to do another already!
