Dear UKVAC members!
The time has come for us to move away from the aging ASP WebWiz forum software and move to a more capable and advanced forum platform!
UKVAC Moderators and Admins have been in discussion to move the UKVAC forum to an agile and premium forum software.
This will give us a more advanced forum software with a very rich plugin library to utilise.
It will support Tapatalk access
It will support picture resizing when uploading pictures to the forum.
We aim to keep the donation capability and the feedback capability.
We're also looking at keeping the multi-skin functionality.
Fix the search issues once and for all.
The plan is to put the UKVAC forum into 'read only mode' for the week where we begin the migration, this will stop new data being entered into the database whilst we perform a migration from one forum software to another, and move from Microsoft SQL Server to MySQL.
Users will either have their password transferred over (with the recommendation to change it soon after logging into the new version of the UKVAC forum. Or we will provide a process of resetting your password by emailing you at your registered email address. So please make sure your email addresses are correct!
As this is going to cost more money than we get in donations after the monthly hosting is taken into account, any new donations you can make to become a Vac.Backer would be greatly received. This will allow us to vastly accelerate the migration program.
Thanks all!
UKVAC Admin and Moderator team
