I got turned down on the van hire
With enterprise even though it was all booked online ..
Because they have now in Luton tail lift van type ..

Changed the insurance under righting ..
You can only hire with a credit card ..

I don’t have credit card . So
Sorry sir you won’t be hiring with us since our new policy change ..

Even though I have been hiring this type of van from them for years .

Which instantly set me into wild goose chase mode ..

One half of my brain said throw in the towel this ain’t happening .

The other side said …. Use the force luke .

Should I go to the bank and apply for a credit card ? Something I have resisted against all these years , until now I’m being frozen out of van hire ..

On the way . Just needed to double back to return van to Banbury after everything done . But it worked .. 😊

But I was now about 1 hour behind and had no time to pack tools and all my stuff like blankets for cabs and straps ..

I had to just go.
The do a mad rush roumd B&M store for rope . Ratchet straps in Wigan ..
Paracetamol and a big bottle of water .

It was like a survival horror game at this point ..

Only 1 mile from our pick up point I was in a bad way .. I walk of shame into a fast food joint B-lining for the gents.
I must have looked like crap because the folks inside did look and I did get eye contact from the manager ..
Trip to the gents wasn’t successful ..

You know how small the corridor is in a Mac Donald’s between restaraunt and toilets .

It’s just like woman’s door , man’s door ,cleaners cupboard door , then some other inconspicuous but very sinister looking door with a more substantial look on it .. then you have the correct door to exit back out .

I did manage to get lost just inside that small corridor sweaty palms .. disorientated 🤢…
Still holding it all in .. staring at two weird doors realising I need to just turn round. ..

Small relief that I had made it past that door puzzle
Like a flash back from resi evil but I’m the zombie ..

I leave taking the walk off shame past all the dinners even though mission was unsuccessful - the pay load was not delivered …. It was still a
Zombie the virus was still inside me ..

Twisting my guts
Head ache was about a 6 -7
Stabbing pains - alternating kidneys
Also shoulders .. right shoulder upon attempt to lift arm would give immediate sharp stab pain each and every time .
Mussels - top of legs weak
Arms heavy feeling .

My wing partner - Elliot now telling me
“ Just be sick “
“ it’s making it worse for you “

Nah - I’m getting to pick up point let’s go!
Back in the van . 1 mile to go .
Pulled out of Super store car park , 100 yards down road traffic lights , traffic jam , lights are red !
I’m done ! Twisting I’m guts to bad now . I have my hand on the door handle ready to leap out the van ..
But just mange to drive into floor court of the petrol station to our right ..
Leap out ..
And most greatfully of all in all this was the van door .. it was their like a friend to lean on fully stretched one hand on side of van one hand on van door ..

Yes it’s very funky ..
Guy had a few giant fish tanks in the gaff
Empty .. but I think he may have had them running in this place for long periods .. mixing lots of water and cab storage ! A Doozer… 🥲. Mdf mouldy..

Ah man it's just insane these days, other half was told when trying to do a deal on home phone/broadband setup well if you don't give us a mobile number then you can't have it, what a world you can't have home phone and internet if you don't have a mobile, absolutely insane
Now cash is legal tender but shops don't have to accept it wonder why

When I got home, there were my torx bit set sat on the kitchen worktop the only thing I forgot to put in toolbox
Just wanted to get the one apart asap so you could get back
When I did the huge Scotland tour I got van from bigger place, not sure if that was enterprise they first tried to give me one with tyres that looked illegal I refused to take it, normally I'd use the smaller independent places but think I wanted somewhere that didn't charge for extra miles as it was a mission of the trip that one

How were you feeling the next day matey?

I only put mine on when the youngsters are over so you hardly need them on.

@Retroman839 That's a slightly newer cab as it doesn't have the 3.3v psu on the metal tray it may still have the factory production date on the sticker behind the coin door.
