Back in the late 90s, Michael Schumacher and Ferrari became so dominant, they had figured exactly how to get the very best from the car within the rules of design and construction, that the FIA had to radically change the rules of the sport as people were getting bored and the sport was losing it's audience. Then we had a few years of Alonso, Button, Raikkonen, Hamilton winning, often with amazing excitement and competition along the way. It reignited the spectator aspect of the sport.
Now I don't think it's bad yet as the peak of the boring Schumacher era, but if Vettel gets this championship this year it must surely sound alarm bells at the FIA...
