Nice one will be great to see you there again Macro :)

Only 1 more weekend before the event so if anyone is still "umming and ahhing" keep the date free and grab yourself a ticket!

I can now confirm that I'll be bringing along a few of my cabs: Mr. Do, Pac-Mania & Donkey Kong cocktail will be there and hopefully will continue to work during the day!!!

I now have the repaired boards from the museum's cabs in my posession so with a bit of luck and work on the day we'll have most of the museum's cabs up and running too.
The cabs, plus the museum's extensive computer & console collection means there should be plenty of gaming goodness to be had.

Just a reminder - if anyone wants to do a talk, bring along any equipment or get involved in any other way please do, give myself or Nes4Life a message or post on this thread.

Hope to see a bunch of you there :)

@silverfox - ha ha! I'm immune to chin kicks due to goatee protection lol!

@nes4life - what time does it open Phil (apologies if I've missed this info somewhere)?

Open from 10am; but I've no doubt I'll be there a little earlier to set a few things up. Last time we weren't setup until about 11am.

It's worth bringing a lunch or buying some food from the cafe at the museum. I plan on passing by the ASDA around the corner at the start. There were thoughts of a BBQ but it's just too impractical / hard to plan for.

It's probably worth mentioning if anyone is coming along and can't get a ticket online for any reason you can pay at the door and the code "tempest" to get a discount.

See you all tomorrow!

Update!!!

Centipede working! Swapped monitor from Gorf. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in getting this one going. First time I've seen a mouse nest in a marquee & a cab jump-started from another cab. Rog, Sarj & Jason all took turns supporting the jump leads. Best quote from Rog "We need longer screws".

Alien Syndrome working (monitor swapped with a TV). Big thanks to Sarj for taking the control panel home. Whatever you do has got to be a 100 times better then the bodge we had planned :) Sound is good; just needs some additional illumination for the topper, marquee & control panel.

Jamma cab working (whatever it's called). Currently playing Pandora's box 3. Fitted a larger working monitor.

Thanks all... Great success!!

Great to meet you all. Apologies for shooting off without saying farewell to some of you. The museum is an awesome place and we've got some audio to play on the next podcast. Highlights include me realising that Asteroids Deluxe is a great sequel after all, playing on an Apple II for the first time, and Sarj inventing sacrificial football!

Another enjoyable weekend of arcade goodness, really enjoyed to meeting familiar & new faces, have the 10 pence podcasters there, play games and talk plenty of banter.

Pretty tired now after spending most of the day swapping & mounting various monitors & chassis but it was worth it as Phil mentioned. It was great to see some real progress made on the machines and pretty awesome how everyone mucks in and gets involved

Look forward to another meet in the future!
