Arcade repair event? Arc-aid!

How many does it need? I might have some hidden away for a supersprint if they fit?
No garantee if I an find them in time.
Does anyone know what is needed?
I said I could bring a hantrex tube and I have a few faulty chassis.

I received a few boards today (Hyper Olympic, Circus Charlie and Xevious), not sure if they have glitches or are completely dead, hopefully will find out on Saturday! I don't think any are original boards, they all look like bootlegs to me as they don't seem to have any manufacturers names on them, but anyway they all have the appropriate daughter boards & ribbon connectors. The Xevious is actually a 3 board stack and has some kind of extender for the edge connector wired on to it, hopefully that will be a useful donor board if the original doesn't work.
Arcadeuk's video's are great, but he is a bit of a whizz repairer... good resource though.

Hi guys, sorry to report my van is not back from the garage yet!!!!
I was supposed to be back lunchtime.
I have had major work on the brakes.
I am doing my best to get it back first thing so I can bring the pin and jamma cab.
If you need me to bring anything else let me know.
I can bring boards and mvs carts, megetech carts and other spares if needed.

Had a great time with everyone at Arc-aid yesterday. I'm going back to help tidy up (just an excuse to see the museum again!). I've got photos but need access to my PC to put them all up.
It's all a bit crazy with what we achieved. Sadly a few of the cabs were up and running for a few hours but by the end of the day they'd failed again!
- Xevious: up and running! I believe this was nearly zero work.
- Street Fighter 2 (CPS2): jail bars removed (reseated roms and cleaned edge connector)
- Sega Mega-Tech: top monitor color adjustment
- Alien Syndrome: desuicided! There's a small sprite glitch that t-m is looking to address.
- Tempest: was up and running for a couple of hours (zero work)! Spot-killer returned.
- Asteroids deluxe cocktail: running most of the day! Some logic problem has cropped up producing jagged lines on the test grid.
- Asteroids: bad EPROM: 2516 (am4716dc) at E/F2. Didn't have a burner old enough.
- centipede: swapped trackball, just needs a new brick or ISO-transformer
- space invaders: problem on main board - t-m has homework!
- Gorf: main boards completely swapped but no joy. Needs further investigation.
- tested 'secret agent' Jamma board and Jason will now use it in one of his pay to play cabs
If anyone has more details over what was carried out then please speak up!

- 19" monitor / TV for Alien Syndrome
- both Asteroids need board attention (anyone got a service?)
- power brick or ISO transformer for centipede

I always seem to get squished into a tiny space behind a cab! It's amazing how small a ball I can get into being 6'2" tall!
Some of the fixes were classic 'quick fixes' which was nice, but some of the others may need some experts to look at. Hopefully t-m will be able to address these.
I was totally blown away by all the goodies at the museum and also the stuff in storage. Oh mama, they have a LOT!

There was a rather fortuitous turn in that a PlayChoice shell was donated to the museum this morning sporting a 19" TV! Should be a good fit for alien syndrome.
Virtvic has lost his favourite screwdriver - a 'see thru' red handled Stellram. If you find it in your kit please let him know as he misses it terribly!

It was a real good meet and was nice to see how things are fixed.
A good bunch of people turned out to lend a hand at the museum.
I will make sure I get pins there for the next meet.
Maybe we could also arrange a good old console competition.
I could brush up on my speccy skills!!!!!

Any pics, etc. from this recent event?
Just received a call from the BBC! They've apologised for not being present at the event but would like to run the story anyway. They couldn't get over the fact that we'd travelled in order to fix the cabs for the museum esentially at our own cost. I'll let you all know when it's published
