Surely flipping is a hardware logic switch to set the video counters to count backwards, rather than a software feature? It’s all discrete logic for Double Dragon.

i think some logic "force" the board to upsidedown, i have already changed the 74ls244 connected to the dip switch... no luck. Maybe forcing via sw the image upsidedown, the logic one will force again the image to be flipped and making the display correct.

If it corrupts when switch is flipped then patching the Roms won't make any difference I am afraid as patching could just bypass the switch. It sounds like some of the inverted display is handled by hardware which is faulty.

i'm back after some works on this board, many bootlegs of double dragon (all?) have the dipswitch of the invert screen physically disabled (i think for economy), so when i recovered the broken trace some ttl's was missing and it does not work. So i hacked the rom forcing the dipswitch setting via software, it works but the game tries to flip image using the missing (missing) ttl and the image goes corrupt!

The good news: The board is not broken - the bad news: the game is forced upsidedown.

The only way to fix this, is rotating the picture via software (but not by forcing the dipswitch setting).

found another board with the same "issue", is The new Zealand story... game works but forced upside down.
When i have some time i'll start to try to fix this problem via software.

Hey I'm new I this. Would someone be able to tell me how I go about a Mr Do!s Wildride that I want to convert to Jumping Jack? Can that use high scores?

Does anyone know about fixing (simple?) bugs? On the stage in the top left there's a hole. Going in the hole gives you 2000 pts.. although the screen says 1000. yuppicide2020-02-26 20:57:48

Hello

If a day, anyone want to put a link for a tutorial to make an adaptor for the 74hct00 with fm1608, it would be great.

I searched on the net, and didn't find any information.

I presume you need an adaptor for an 8Kx8 ram with dual select to be used with an M82 perhaps.
The following board was made for the STK12C68 chips that require a capacitor (sometimes 2), but if you leave the capacitors out will happily work with the FM1608's.
The socket outline is where the NV chip goes and you would put header pins into 2 of the 3 lines of holes depending on if it is a narrow or wide ram chip being replaced.

Here is a zip of the gerber files that will be accepted by JLPCB. They were doing a special of $2 for 5 pcb's and were giving vouchers for free postage when you sign up.

I have another 9 dedicated games with High Score Saves, 1 with a screen flip, 2 with fixed mistakes, CPS1 GAL equations reworked to reduce temperature and all the M92 games have revised jumper info.
But am not sure if I will release it as people seem happy to use it and not donate, even the simple patches take a few hours to sort and the CPS1 games take many hours to patch for any C board let alone Pang3 conversions that need extensive rework for the GFX & GAL.
I already did all the CPS1 that I was slightly interested in and seeing boards up for sale at much high prices that have been converted using my patches with not even a £1 donated is irritating

I haven't had the opportunity to use your good work. I would kindly donate though for your work even without using it if you can tell me how.

I am also guilty of not donating even though I used rompatcher to make some romsets for my pang3
there is a donation button on the window that pops up when rompatcher starts:

I will rectify this because GadgetFreak also send me a sega system2 part last year without even asking for postage costs!

Rompatcher is great because the CPS1 library has more classic games like Final Fight, Captain Commando, Magic Sword, Knights of the Round etc... not everyone can get the real boards easily nowdays or shell out for the upcoming cps-1 multi...

Anyways there will always be people that will take advantage of it and just sell conversions there is no way around it...

I hope you reconsider the CPS1 stuff in the future GadgetFreak!

just to understand correctly.
pacmania and galaga 88 doesn' have the freeplay option (with a correct attract mode), right?

only the high-score feature and the decryption part?

I want to have both original boards into my pacmania cabinet and i thought i could have the freeplay for them....

Just a bump to say thank you to all the Donators.
It's going to be a busy couple of months for me with Slice and the AS1 Multi so thought I had better update the patcher with the most recent bits & pieces. See the first post for a V10 link.
