Are´nt there some serious idiots out there?

I look for a Ninja Warriors and wrote some mails to Ninja Warriors-owners.

Not only that 2 from 3 that answered asked for 1000USD, what I maybe would pay for a working Star Wars.

One asked me for an offer and I told him that it is hard to make one without to know if the games works, how it works and in what conditions it is.

His answer was as fallowed:

Yes, I understand what you're saying. I told you it was fully
working and in great shape, but you want to see photos and I understand
that.

It seems like this is turning negative and I don't want that.

I'll
just be completely blunt and put all my cards on the table. I get
people all the time asking me about games, but after I drive out to the
warehouse, dig out the game, plug it in, take lots of pictures, upload
them, email the guy, I end up getting an insulting offer that, had I
known, I would not have wasted all of that time and energy.

I
guess what I need to know is what BALLPARK you are in (given that it is
fully working and in great shape). If - no matter HOW nice the game is
- you are not going to offer over $1000, it's never going to happen.



If you MIGHT offer between $1000 and $2500 depending on condition - I would think about going and getting pictures.

If you MIGHT offer between $2500 and $5000 depending on condition - I will get pictures sometime next week.



If you MIGHT offer over $5000 - I'll go get pictures today.



I
hope you understand that the reason for this is that I don't want to
sell it at all. If I were dieing to sell it, I would go get pictures no
matter what you were going to offer.

Funny what idiots try to make money out of the hobby....as soon as you ask for a game they thing they can screw the price in the heaven.....

I've not been on there. It's just too damn hard to get signed up in the first place. Yep, I have an account which I had to do to be able to register my interest in a new control panel run but I still can't get permission to actually post there so TBH, I can't be bothered. UKVAC is better anyway

That pricing structure / vs. effort willing to go to is just ridiculous. Why bother replying in the first place if he didn't want to sell it.

Why on earth would a Ninja Warriors be worth over $2.5k anyway???

I thought the same....to say "OK, 5000$ and I get the pictures TODAY"....but of course he would think that I pay the 5000 right away.

But what for are the pictures then, once it is bought I dont need pictures anymore....

Members told me on Craigslist one went for 100$...I would pay more but I dont let them screw me!

BTW, how can I look for entire USA on Craigslist?

I just told him that 1000 is too much.

Anyways, they have a very rude way to treat one another. I read thread of a guy (of course a newbie, they are always the punching-balls for the idiots who does´nt have girlfriend) who made an operator raid.

He found a lot of that round Pong-tables, some cool stuff and a Computer Space.
One of the jealous members stated:

"Looks to me like a bunch of crap that better should stay in the barn and keep rotting..."
If a newbie would post like that.....

Alot of people on VAPS/KLOV where it lists who owns what should only be contacted if they have officially put in the notes yes this is up for sale, I am sure there is a disclaimer note saying do not contact people that have No next to their item to try and buy it. Did this person have a yes or no by their item? I've had nothing but good dealings on Klov.

If you are looking to buy stuff state side you need to build a good rep and go slowly.

If you asked me to sell my favourite cab then I'd tell you it wasn't for sale. But if you want to offer me 10 grand for it I might change my mind.

Klov is a good forum for sourcing hard to get parts/cabs in the UK, and for technical information etc, but as said above you need to build up a reputation especially when buying items, which I don't think is a bad thing.

Remember that these guys are going out of their way to ship from the US to the UK so they don't want to deal with timewasters....not saying that is the case here.

Unsolicited approaches for cabs will not help with reputation, especially if you are new and they are only likely to sell their prized possessions if you offer stupid amounts of money, which is what is being asked for here.

I don't think that makes these guys idiots. I think this was probably the expected answer/response to the enquiry

Benson, what I mean is that they have a rude way to communicate to one another in general....not on topics that include my person.

I read a lot of postings before I was a member and had that impression.

As for you question, I think he was not officially saying that it is for sale, but he no problem that I came in touch.

Anyways, I did it over his website, I did contact all the guys via their hopepages and facebook.

We wrote many mails...he wanted an offer and I told him that I cannot make an offer without to know anything....than he wrote me the stated lines as a last mail.

So from my point of view, if I am not welcome - I am not welcome. Then he should tell me so or ignore the messege.

But it cannot be that I am only welcome as long as I pay 1000-5000+ for a low value game.

Again, since I came in touch with him I told him that this is above my budget, and said grateful good bye.

After my roadtrip last year I had more mails comming in for game-requests than I could answer....on some days more than 30 and that for weeks.....and I still get some.

I never said I am inteded to sell games and even after Superully and Tyrem started to corrupt the thread and I stated that I OFFICIALLY STOP selling games on DLF as I dont like the stress some jealous people make members still come in contact until the present day.

But I never acted that way, although I have some really rare and worthy games....and I always kept polite.

don't really want to get involved here and don't really care but in all honesty, I think the reply was a bit patronising

like you said James if someone asked you then you would say its not for sale

as I would do, and if someone said that to me its not for sale, I would reply thanks for replying and letting me know.

one for a rainbow islands and I was offered £500 for the PCB and I replied im sorry but I want to hold on to it for now

second for the Monroe Joystick and again I said I want to keep it sorry

I always had troubles getting parts from the USA to europe.

It was like that since 15 years ago and tried to get parts for my Buick and my Chevy and when I opened my eBay-account. They most of the time send to the "lower 48 states".

I have a container in Kentucky and dont need anybody to send over to europe (which they would´nt do anyway I guess).

I had a good converstation with all of them, and it was 13 in total, but what that guy told me is not ok for me.
A business is always a transaction for the advantage of both parties (ecxept in a case of fraudery).

So if the guy want to make the game to money, he should consider to go to the storage and make some pictures or say "No, its not for sale".

But a business is not a favour....what the guy have are gangster-methods...

It's really simple. If you don't like the responses you get, stop communicating. If you don't like KLOV, stop going there. People aren't going to change to fit in with your view of how the world should work.

I have answers from 5 guys so far and I always had a nice converstion and ended up with

"Thanks for your time"....at every single one.

This certain guy asked me to make him an offer, so he offically started the negotiations.
