:) …. My neighbours had that 50p slot on the tv.
We didn’t have a colour telly ..
Seeing the tv next door when it was on! was like amazing especially if it was
Something like a game show.
Wasn’t long before we had our own telly
But we did go two years without a telly
When we knocked the new one .
Knecking it!

Some people broke those 50p boxes off.
Also I remember the anamosity towards the man that would come and fill his bag with the 50ps..
Like when the pools man would come round also …. And the milk float going up and down at 5/6 in the morning..
Lol, kids these days wouldn't believe it. We didn't get a colour TV until about 1982 when my brother (RIP) got his first job working in an electrical shop. It was a portable Panasonic with a Quintrix tube. Build quality you just don't get these days, and luxury of luxuries, it had a remote control!

I remember a neighbour her dad had a reclining chair right in front of the 29” 4:3 With a remote control that was wired to the tv.. 😝. It made me chuckle then still makes me chuckle ..
Wonder how many times they tripped on they wire!
My bro RIP too ❤️. He Bought us a 39” Philips match line for our jap n64!
Mario 64 On that bohemoth is a thing of unparalleled joy!

Hmm, with the rgb-pi jamma my monitor sporadically cycles through the resolutions (only for a few seconds usually) this is after I've set the resolution to 15khz arcade via the rgb-pi os. I wonder if it has any bearing on the step down proximity? I'm a little worried that this will fry the horizontal. I'll spend some time on getting the j-pac running with a Pi and report back. 20230507_223345.jpg

Is it the sync pot on the chassis adjustment pcb might need a tiny tweak?

I rgb-pi only on a SanwA 27z
And it was running something like 740x500 Amiga ..
But was fine I didn’t play it for long as I was worried it might over cock the chassi. But yeah the os4 /pi4
auto changes switch res on the fly..
so could just be your chassi don’t like it

Sorry bad pic but best I could find
It’s a wei ya 3129d chassi
I circled the small pcb in red ..
It should be located under the control panel flip it up and look at back of panel under neath control panel ..
Don’t change the resolution switch when machine is on it damages the chassis

Hmm. I seem to have bokked that. The monitor still jumps between resolutions while using an rgb-pi. This happens whether I use a Pi 3 (OS2) or a PI 4 (OS4). Some games seem to trigger this more than others (donkey kong, I'm looking at you mate). Sometimes a degauss will kick me back to low res. Any ideas why this would happen?

Hmm
Hard to say …

Watch out Amiga games on pi os4
Running at 740
Some chassis ok but it don’t seems right me.. you don’t want to over work em..

I will try Donky Kong on mine later ..
Are you running it in tate mode ?
With rotated monitor ?

Because when your running rotate games like Donky kong in hori screen orientation it kinda isn’t in its preferd state but it should still hold a stable image .. so you definitely can’t dial Donky Kong in the the remote board ?

Yes it's in tate (monitor is currently vertical). The game runs fine for maybe a few minutes (all dialled in beautifully), then I'll hear a relay click and the image becomes garbled, like it has switched resolutions. Sometimes hitting degauss switches the resolution back to low res. Not ideal when I'm chasing high scores! I'm also wary that it'll fry the chassis.

Tri sync chasssi

It’s just confused like it’s loosing sync

I used to get this all the time with
Faulty Jpac. Or usb socket on the pc was dropping the 5v output
Because the 5v is needed It would lose sync ….

I would say you are either experiencing a fault on the rgb-pi ..
or the chassi is for some reason just changing sync . Even though you ain’t asking it to ..

Maybe your remote board is faulty ..
This has a switch to through res into 15, 25 & 31 …. Your rgb pi is set for 15 only …. Normally you need to switch to switch res .. but it could have a short under the remote pcb around the switch area Or rgb pi is for some reason loosing voltage momentarily
