I've been trying to find time to play some games again recently, not been easy, managed 673300 running MAME on my laptop at about 4am last night

inching closer to the kill screen... perhaps playing a bit earlier in the day concentrating might be a bit easier lol

Got a new best on my cab the other day, lost two lives to a sticky joystick too. Joystick has now been cleaned in preparation for the bank holiday weekend.

Finally Killscreened Donkey Kong last night.

Quite a low score for a killscreen – 820,300. This is because I had a few boards where the
timer went almost to zero. Plus I was
playing just to get to the end.

I actually had an extra man left at the end! But there was no way I was going to mess
about on the last barrel board point pressing and then deliberately die. Imagine if I’d done that and then lost the
other man on the last rivet stage! Haha!

I started playing this game in October 2015, so it’s taken
me just over two and a half years to do it.

I always wondered how I would feel after achieving it. I’m definitely not going for a higher score
for now, although any future games that I do play casually will involve point
pressing rather than just trying to get to the end.

Donkey Kong is easily one of my favourite games of all time.

But I am now going to focus on other arcade favourites (namely
Burger Time & Donkey Kong Junior) as well as getting in a bit more gaming
on my PS4 and Switch.
