Yeah, I don't know how you start pricing repairing stuff you're not familiar with, could easily end up massively uneconomic time-wise (you can see why people just start shotgunning stuff in desperation). How Much !!
To be fair its not the price , Its the quality of work. I dont repair for others but if anyone is thinking of sending it there I will do it for you instead !
I know. The trouble is that when an amateur like me sees the blurb he's put on Tiktok, he thinks he is getting a quality job.Talks a good talk as they say.Its only thanks to Ace that I found out otherwiseHow Much !!

Not angry Adam , Just disappointed !
If he had done that to me , I would have been straight down there. Probably taken a shit in the top draw of his desk !

anyone who pays £220 for an Atari Lynx mod/repair/upgrade needs to be dismissed right awayYeah, they have a poor reputation in the Gameboy modding community for a multitude of reasons, including more recently awful "repair" work.
Don't feel bad Adam, there was no way to know he was going to make such a mess of it. He talks a good talk and obviously knows just enough to be dangerous as they say. He has a bunch of happy customers and good reviews etc, maybe when the heat gun doesn't get fired up he does better work.
I randomly saw him on Homes under the Hammer a few weeks back, I don't usually watch day time tv I promi
Did he use said hammer on my board? 🫣Don't feel bad Adam, there was no way to know he was going to make such a mess of it. I've had a bad experience with Retrosix too. Do not recommend!!! He took my Naomi2 in for repair. Paid the money and got it repaired and sent back...returned worse than when it left me (semi-working originally, totally dead on return). Sent it back again and he said he'd have another go, then got back to me saying he had spent hours on it and it wasnt working but instead of me paying for his labour, he would just take the naomi2 as payment instead. Relutantly agreed. I was now down a naomi2 with a slight fault (still played naomi1 games) plus £80 and postage. Few weeks later he messaged me saying he had got it working and tried to sell me it back for £100 more than i could buy a new one from aliexpress. I waited until i had a few beers then let rip. Hes the only person i've had any dealings with while being in this hobby that i would absolutely go out my way to warn people against.
