Is that not the buyers fee they charge the buyer now for the same protection as before? so if you list it at £10 the buyer pays something like £11.70? Also still no option for Royal Mail to bring your label...

I sold something last week and hadn't realised the 'Simple Delivery' thing was on by default. So it selected EVRI, which customer services insisted I should use, even though the nearest drop off shop is an expensive ferry trip away! I eventually got them to refund RM postage that I bought for myself, but it was a hassle.

Hows everyone getting on with this Simple Delivery now it's FORCED kind of

Just sold an AV Amp and I put free delivery obviously Included postage in price as you do at say £10 as I can post for that or cheaper, so now ebay have changed all your listings so need to make sure they haven't got EVRI switched on because no way posting with them
Buyer has selected Parcelforce 24 and its got £100 compensation £14.98 (another scam this insurance stuff) I can post for just over £10 without scamming insurance which they should be responsible for if they damage when packed sufficiently, so I pack well and don't bother paying another £4 or £8+vat extra so its no cheaper than the way I send things previously and how much money are ebay making out of the labels through them, they must get it far cheaper from RM so just another way they make money on top of the protection racket fees

so basically they can select anything they want, then I can payout more money in shipping but you don't have to post with there money making labels as I can just do it the old way and send PF 24 and pay £10.80 which I would do with higher value but other things I would do 48hr, so this is a joke really when then can choose and they aren't paying the postage if its more.

sold some car speakers other week, buyer selected first class letter? so they can choose from a big list and select something stupid, if you have the postage price separate that buyer pays they'll select 1st class letter £1 something that you can't post for and going to cost £4-5

Hmmm they should let the seller input the package/parcel size and weight and have an algorithm determine the options available should the buyer be choosing the delivery service, simples eh ?

They do.

Have sold 2 items now and let eBay sort out the postage after putting the details in, one went via EVRI and one via Royal Mail, both times I was given a QR code to scan at a local shop to post and a label was printed out, I also put a hand written label with the devilery details on it, was pretty easy to be fair.

On both listings the buyer was given a range of postage options to choose from at different price points.

Yet buyer can select 1st class letter for 1.5kg speakers? Or select more expensive shipping option and I have to pay extra for the label, like another £4

Ive not seen that, buyer could choose a slower cheaper option or more expensive faster, or even collect from store which was cheapest and they pay whatever option they chose and eBay gave me a QR code to send so cost me nothing.

Here's another today, I mean if they want the item flattened so it's 2nd class letter it's not a problem he can have flip flops instead of shoes

Now I've just changed it to 2nd class small parcel it now says Buyer Selected that?!? ebays a joke and the last item I used there label still not saying delivered so obviously RM didn't scan or what ever, systems crap as I still don't have the money and they have the item

Must be something with the way you are listing things, when I list I get this option for setting the parcel size/weight and ebay then adds all the postage options that match, but I can also enable/disable different couriers from the ones it selects.

It did things properly on 1st few but then I was getting this, one things is ebay have changed listing that been on for ages to simpletons delivery which is probably one issue and newer listings probably okay, It seems it just defaults to the cheapest option but confused me by saying buyer selected it when they probably haven't

Still not using there £15 label when I can post an item for £10 so I just add tracking number like before

I saw this on youtube the other day, he seems a little frustrated with ebay lol

You shouldnt have to pay anything for postage, I think that is the whole point. Ebay charge the buyer for the postage they have chosen and give you the code/label to post at their expense. Shouldnt be an issue if the package size/weight has been input correctly when listing.

I guess older listings that have been up for a while may need updating as wouldnt have been entered as an option when originally listed, but I think the dimension/weight thing has been there for a while, I always used to ignore it and added the cost of delivery to the item price and did free postage once eBay started charging fees on the postage as well.

That way it did give a nice bonus if something went missing in the post as for the hassle of refunding and claiming you got the sale amount back plus the postage that had been paid.

That is a good point, although pretty much everything Ive sold and postage in the last few years has used recycled packaging from things Ive previously bought, so just the sticky backed plastic to pay for.

Luckily I also have both a post office and Evri drop off point close enough to walk to so no need to factor in petrol etc.

I can change the postage option no problem but most of my listings are postage included which makes it easier I think

Don't get the other half started on Postage, she's asked people before why they've charged £4 extra and when asked why they say I've got box, packaging, tape. paper, ink, petrol, she said they may as well add shoe leather to the list  I mean if your bothered about all that you must be a business

Always use recycled packing, boxes, jiffy bags just tape, paper, ink but if you get enough for the item surely few more pence isn't issue

I walk to Post Office 98% of time and have Evri drop off closer but I try not using them

Question though, if all your labels are through internet, how are Post Office making money, they were pushing tracked for extra 20p like mad like it's making them more money, so they can't get much on already paid labels, so how long before more local PO's gone, as I heard the guy in mine last year saying if people don't use us enough we'll have to close, she said about them advertising more but he said we can't, you can for us helping to promote but it didn't sound good for them and then it's a pain in arse as I'll have to drive half a mile and probably pay to park to post things or get everything collected which means I get nothing done all day else I'll miss them knocking

The ebay scammers are also forcing buyer protection on items that have to be collected.
THERE IS NO BUYER PROTECTION ON COLLECTED ITEMS!

This is what I've been saying, all you'll get from ebay is you should have checked the item on collection, most people I collect from hand it to you at the door step so what ya gotta do, video it and ask if you can test stuff and send it ebay when they won't let ya, total jokers
