Well done to all those that voted to leave the EU! Give yourself a nice pat on the Back, well done!!!!!

I didn't vote as I couldn't decide what was best with all the lies from both side. Politicians are corrupt and liars, generally only putting themselves first and saying whatever makes them "look" best. Always breaking their promises. Bunch of @unts. Not many selfless ones. Self important...

I don't remember this being advertised as a consequence of brexit.

Was there anything stopping the government doing this if we hadn't left the EU? Could just have been done if we remained...??
Yep. f@cking bunch of scumbags m8, hence why I would have just stayed as we were! No we would not have had to pay 20% Tax if we stayed in the EU!! along with a shat load of other crap we have to deal with as we have now left!!

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

You both sound pathetic.

To be honest I was very disappointed that UK voted to leave EU. I understand that, EU has too much influence on the single countries.

But this is just now, give them some time and things will be sorted to a good end (at least I hope so)

Thanks ZeroSum

You just embarrass yourself with your comment

Obviously you have no experience with MPs or Councillors to know what they are like

I have faith, just not with selfish people who can't change their ways

We'll just leave it there

Once we pay the VAT or equivalent to whichever eBay site we buy from, Will we still be liable to U.K. VAT and import duty on top?

No there's two systems.

Under £135, the international seller must collect the VAT and pay it to the UK government. Theoretically you should then have a smooth import process as the item is marked VAT paid, and no import duty.

Over £135 VAT and Duty is charged at the point of import, just like worldwide items were previously.

the guy who makes retrotink has stopped taking orders from the UK also, he is based in the states

We need an OFFICIAL UK importer/distributor

This is needed for the following:

tink products

krizz products

terraonion products

analogue products

have the UK distributor actually put the honest/correct prices on them people know how much they are going to actually pay

Krikzz has an official UK importer - RetroTowers (there has always been a mark up though). I picked up a Game Gear Everdrive from them recently but they've been selling everdrives since Krikzz first made them I think.

Yep sadly importers have to pay VAT and duty too. All they have is economy of scale in their favour to spead the duty across multiple items and to negotiate a lower price from the manufacturer.
But they'll earn their fee for the effort so you'll still be paying the elevated price one way or another.

Welcome to my world - I've been stung for duty, tax and Parcelforce/dhl handling fees for years importing stuff from Japan.

Give it 6 months and it'll settle down a bit as current system is unworkable..

Does...does this mean the end of desponible sellers on UKVAC?

They might find they'll need to drop their prices by 20-30% in order to sell anything to the UK...

This is my concern. EU sellers are unlikely to knock the 20% vat off of selling to the uk. Which mean us mugs get to pay it twice!

Bought a Neo SD Pro AES, Mega SD and a MODE from T.O. In December for thick end of a grand. It was shipped from andorra by DHL and escaped customs charges. Doesn’t happen often but nice when it does
