 It's all the little steps to remove cash but I'm just sitting back now waiting for the time when many things happen

when I bought a PVM monitor other month, I asked guy if he wanted cash or through ebay, he said cash so no problem, ebay cancelled the transaction because it wasn't paid through them before I'd got it, they blocked me sending my number too so had to send it in a photo attached. If you ask me the whole ebay thing setup and all the online market place stuff was to end local car boots and sales where cash was huge and they can't track what you buy and sell but that's just me hey :)

They've also removed fucking AMEX ... without warning ... which is a right cunty thing to do. ( because it directly affects me 😅 )

( for whomever is about to wang on about AMEX charges ... they have vastly reduced them for small businesses, at least ... and I cannot imagine that eBay has issues with them, either ... but ... 😩 )

Ebay scan messages, for address and phone numbers etc. If you try and send details it blocks the messages. Easy way around.

Write your phone number on a piece of paper and take a picture of it, and attach it to a message to seller! Then when he phones you, agree on a price, and they can cancel auction. They can't scan messages on pictures.

its not really a problem this is it, just don't buy things on ebay if you don't like their business practises, some people just love to complain and moan i find, and its tiresome

I often have people wanting to deal outside eBay. My answer is always no. I know the fees going in, I'm using a service and to be honest I'd rather not deal with the ball ache.

My issue is that the second you mention 'Cash' everyone thinks is some sort of big scam, Including people on here !! Well its not !!! I like to have cash in the house (Yes i am old fashioned) I like to have some for if I go the chippy , Shop or if I am treating myself. It helps me keep an eye on what I am spending.

Cash is LEGAL tender and you should be able to sell things and request it, Its nothing to do with fee's , I am like everyone i stick the extra on to what i want to sell to cover charges. What it sells for on Ebay is what it sells for , I have never had anyone turn up and start haggling after they have click the buy buttin. If someone is doing that I would ' Send them on there way ' without the goods they turned up for.

One thing I will add is IMO ebay are greedy and have become a bad platform , Private adds for vehicles and then they get scammed out of 1000's of pounds. They know what is going on but they dont give a shit.

Dave.

No doubt eBay are greedy and getting greedier. It's just for me personally I like a nice paper trail. I don't like cash as being married with a teenage child cash has a habit of "disappearing" :D

Ebay, Paypal just more of them in the Big Club of control, only have to look at Paypal Co Founder Peter Thiel and his Palantir Technologies

Tesco has ditched cash at 40 of its cafes with customers forced to pay by card at self-service machines. The supermarket giant says the overhaul has boosted the customer experience and the changes have been well-received, but critics said it was “bonkers” and risked alienating elderly customers
