Ah, yeah, the forum was dead, but after 20 years or resisting, everyone had moved to Facebook to be cliquey.
I have a theory with such places that as times goes on and cars get fewer and fewer, you lose people, but those left are mostly self-proclaimed super-experts, so there's no point joining in as you're either shot-down for suggesting, or patronised for asking a question.
I expect there's similar scenarios for gaming, but I don't think we're close to that here.
Sounds like the Neogeo forum

Well, I wasn't going to comment, but what the heck, I'll let me hair down :ROFLMAO:

I think simplistically, I question if this world is for me. I question human intelligence when we continue to go into war after war, there is just so much sadness in the world, we hear people in positions of power say 'we're all in this together' whilst making one rule for you and one rule for them - I just find it so disappointing.

I'm currently signed off via a doctors note for 3 weeks due to stress at work, I've recently taken the tests and been diagnosed as being Autistic (as an adult in his 30s), this is a shock but equally explains a lot, I have constant struggles with all sorts of aspects of life and it seems whatever I want to do/try to do in the privacy of my own home, just trying to protect my own wellbeing, there is some f**ker at the council blocking it, reminding me that I am not important, and my rights and needs are of no relevance to them. All this whilst banging on about policy and inclusion and how they help the community, when from where I'm standing all I've ever seen them do is put down and crush us.

I think the human mind is fragile, I think if you have a wider awareness of the ugly aspects of life or the world in general, you carry some of that burden. Stress and mental wellbeing are not to be underestimated in their seriousness, some people will say 'well just man up' or 'just ignore it', but sometimes it just isn't that simple. I for example want a kinder, safer, better world to live in, I think we owe it to ourselves, future generations, and the generations before us that suffered in their time to hopefully fight for a better time for us.

I quite frankly find it delusional when I'm accused of being the 'one with the problem', or 'the one in the wrong' for wanting better, for all of us! No doubt there are a lot of good and kind people in the world, no doubt their needs to be more, but my worry is, how long before the ones that do exist are crushed and burnt out beyond repair by this dysfunctional society we have built.

(nothing aimed at anyone here by the way), take care all

Our minds haven't evolved much past cave man while society and tech has evolved rapidly.
The internet is simply another tool that's advanced quicker than we can deal with it.

It's going to keep on happening like this because people aren't built to deal with this sort of thing.
But the net is simply another tool to be used for good or bad as we see fit.
Just keep away from the toxic areas.

I hear you and understand

Believe it or not David Icke pushes for the same thing, the constant wars that are funded by wealthy bankers etc he talks about all the time and points out a loving god wouldn't do this, were being kept in fear, brainwashed by TV News and Media, personally I've never heard anyone make more sense of the world we live in and I know most will say he's just a conspiracy theorist but he's far beyond that

As he says, Human Race Get Off Your Knees, stop bowing down to Authority, he doesn't advocate violence or hate and promotes people of all races and religions getting along and he was one of the few that went to court for not paying Poll Tax which got thrown out in the end and thatcher had to cancel it because people refused to pay

Government and council are just there to control everyone's lives and all it takes is for everyone to refuse, like Chicken gate they wan't to stop you being self sufficient, I was tempted to Register my box of eggs, system was crashed from people registering rubber chickens, birds in the garden. They are insane with control and under Kier's Stasi Party its ramped up fast

It helps me listening to people but it depends how open you are about listening to alternative voices rather than the TV/Radio/Newspapers but you only have to pick up a newspaper like the free one my parents used to get, it's just constant car theft here, house robbed there, man stabbed, woman mugged, just pumping out hate and fear constantly, I don't watch TV now but watching programmes okay but keep away from News, Breakfast TV and shite like Loose Woman, This Morning

Never did I see myself switching off the TV 5 years ago, I would of said your crazy not watching TV

We can have different opinions but doesn't mean we can't get on especially when talking hobbies like Arcade stuff :giggle:

Thing that depresses me the most is the Weather  I can't get anything done outside

I agree. We are designed to know only a handful of people and our misbehaviours by getting too drunk etc would be forgotten by our friends not recorded for posterity; we could then reset every day and lead a happy quiet life.
The internet and globalisation are both entirely anti-humanistic... good place to meet psychos with similar interest though...

The internet allows people to disrespect you, without getting punched in the face!

I watched a chap getting abuse online, and the offender saying "Die of cancer" or something like that. He tracked him down, and knocked on his door, and the chap shit himself! Wish I could find the video.

What surprises me is some people don't seemed to hold-off whatsoever when they're on Facebook. Instant sweary insults, violent threats, racism, suggesting criminal damage, blurt it all out with your name, employer, personal details on full view.
I'd expected the opposite to forums where they can hide behind a fake name to be a dick.

I guess some people are just stupid and you encounter a lot more people online (as said above).

this was more of a rant to get it out my system, but i also remember a fair few years ago now, and im a big boxing fan to give this some reference, and a bloke in work had created a fake twitter account and was trolling Audley Harrison, to the point where it old him i was going to PM him and tell him your real name and where he lived, that was funnier than the trolling
