Finally...an OutRun DLX

The last of the cabs on my list I've wanted for my collection and I've finally managed to get one. Super pleased and been playing it a LOT since it arrived just a few days ago courtesy of Martin.

I sold my lovely upright to get a cockpit and the deal all went horribly wrong a while back so I was stuck without one of my favourite games and feeling pretty gutted about the whole experience, then this showed up in a disassembled and untested state and I just had to go for it.

It required a load of work to get it in to one piece and working, and tb2000/Tony was incredibly helpful and came over right away to put it together and test it with me. It was a great surprise when after 6 hours it fired up fully working first time

I gave it a good clean up and finished assembling it properly today so thought I'd get some pictures. It came out pretty nicely in the end. There's a few bits missing sadly - the tail light covers being the obvious things - if anyone has some I'll gladly buy them! Missing the wheel badge as well, but one of those has already been found thanks to a generous OutRun fan who was saving one for a DLX

Looks even better than I thought- looks like it's had a bit of resto done already as that seat looks great. Just love the backlit dash, such a nice touch. Superb cab- what a sight it is and must be placed in prime location in the centre of the room.. but then what about the Hot Rod..?

Nope it's no good- you've just got too many great cabs.. look at the Daytona special casually sitting in the background as well!

Congrats buddy- that's one cab I always wanted but the planets never aligned for me. I need to pop down for a play!!!

Yeah things worked out very well eventually - sure didn't feel like that when the last deal fell through though!

This is definitely a keeper, it's the last one on my top 10 fave cab list so my collection is complete (with one of them still in transit!). It feels a bit strange to own this, I never thought I'd get one really, and certainly never ever thought I'd have DLX versions for OutRun and OutRun 2
