Forum Migration

Hi, I realise that this was probably due to happen just before Covid shut the world down but any idea when/what this might be migrated to?

I could probably assist with technical things if required.

I guess we may never get something more mobile responsive and a SSL certificate that doesn't use an outdated cipher.

We have a test site running Xenforo which has been tested, and have spoken to a data migrator to transition between forums.

Just needs a date. I'll try and get more information out to everyone soon.

Yeh I've not been on much for the past few months
but the site seems to be running worse than ever now it keeps freezing when you're trying to type a message

And is really slow going in-between posts and sections
As well as the problems it's all ways had with posting images
And trying to read your sent messages

Since we're on the subject, sort of, does the info@ukvac.com work, as I've ben getting returned mail?

Was just pointing out areas of the site that links no longer work, outdated, or have move to a new home so one of the admins mind update.

Don't know how much people go to those sections, but I know I did

I know a forum migration is a tough thing to accomplish, but more regular updates would be appreciated by the community

migrating from one forum to another is an extremely complicated process, which wont be helped by the fact this software is probably well out of date so most migration tools wont work.

add into the fact that the most popular and secure forums come at a cost now, so the costs these guys are already paying for hosting would increase
