There are individual consultants / companies that offer services for migration between specific forums, at a price..

Of course you would also need somebody's time to arrange and manage the process and it could be a lengthly process.

I'm sure plenty of members would be happy to donate towards the costs if a 'upgrade' funding drive was arranged in future. eg people could donate a pcb to be added to a raffle where each ticket for entry is £20.

If necessary consider making the sales section(s) only available to those who donate at least £1 a month (or £12 a year). This would not be popular but would quickly bring in a load of cash, provide the funds raised were transparently audited/reported.

Many members already donated for the migration, years back.

Hi

We're paying a company to do it. We're in the stages of agreement of the structure of what is to be migrated.

I wish I could share more.

I know life gets in the way, but...

Another 5 months have passed... Any news on a forum upgrade?

It's a nightmare to use on phones and it's still not secure.

How about someone at least trying to sort the certificate out while waiting on the main stuff?

TBH I'd be just as happy with a fresh new forum, and make the old/current one read-only or archived instead of migrating all the data across.

At least that would be easier and might get done soon?

Or if all you guys are too busy, perhaps see if anyone else can help/do it? I'd wager a bunch of vaccers would jump at the chance of helping.

Hi all

First update of the year. More detailed information on timelines is coming from Rav in the next 10-14 days.

We have a new Xenforo forum built which will take the forum into 2023 with a bang (good bang for everyone we hope!).

All historic data such as forum posts will be taken over and we are sorting private messages. We hope these will also come over too.

Obviously moving to Xenforo will resolve lots of forum issues such as automatic photo resizing, easier photo uploading, tagging, multiple PM conversations, notifications and enhanced mobile support.

We also have SSL on the new forum.

More news soon on the timeline for the forum migration and how we're handling identity migration.

Thanks.

Just a selfish thought, when it does get migrated can it be set up the same way as my work internet filtering doesn't block the site as it is at the moment!
