Wow what a crazy roller coaster ride this has been! Unbelievable!

I was lucky enough to play this magnificent machine a couple of years ago. In fact we visited Pleasure Beach for this sole purpose and spent most of the time in the arcade playing it. My Mrs wasn't too happy about it at the time, complaining that we didn't get to go on many rides. But it was fantastic to finally play it and for me well worth the admission price alone.

This whole mess seemed a crying shame, I'm so happy to hear that all is not lost and some good may come out of it yet.

I played this at Blackpool a few years ago as well! It was sadly battered to f**k but still functional, and I was fairly sure it was one of (if not, the) last ones in the world. Very glad to see it has somewhat survived. Is it the same one that was in the Trocadero more years back? I played that back in the early-mid 00's too.

Bloody hell fire what are the chances of that, moving house and finding this!!

Fingers crossed the roms could be dumped for archive purposes or hell something done with the remaining hardware, wonder if namco might want anything to do with it or helping out as I very much doubt they actually have one

Just hope the car doesn't get broken for parts or put on the road would be sacrilegious even though I do own a eunos roadster, just hope this game gets fully restored and playable in the flesh or as close to how it was in Blackpool.

Wonder if Mazda UK or Namco UK might want something to do with it?

Definitely deserves to be in a museum personally Pinballgeek2022-03-14 20:24:22

Im still confused and puzzled
If this was ever restored, or even in same, I think we have an interesting documentary even within this thread.

(I'm off to remove the screen from ridge racer dx, and set up 3 projectors and pc's ready!!!!)

Guys I'm pretty sure 80% of this machine is scrapped. Sounds like none of the frame, floor and supports are there anymore.

Scrapped like the original person that lived at the house said.

Sounded like that from the pics before. Was hoping the majority of that stuff is recreatable.... if anyone wants to go that far.

Just wanted to give an update on my plans - since the last post I have not found anything else of the structure, the only parts that remain of this are three side panels with the RR logo on them. My plan is to rebuild a version of the machine, it will not be a replica but will be instantly recognisable. The original Eunos Roadster will be restored and the game will be played in the same way as the original. The new machine will then be available to play at an arcade (once a home is found). This is a big project so it will take a few years but I will keep you all updated... It would be great if you could all share your memories of playing this machine at Blackpool Pleasure Beach or any other Ridge Racer Full Scale.

You still need to get the board roms dumped because its game over once they fail. nobody fixes these up until i think 2018 namco still fixed the odd one and mine was the last they looked at and they gave up in the end as they couldnt fix it. They even got rid of the test rig.
Heres the thread:
