Was in the loft recently and as always found a dozen things I forgot I had but not the thing I wanted, one of the things I dug up was a Macrovision remover for copying protected VHS tapes, will get a picture of it if any of you Macro vision nerds wants to see it, oozes 80;s charm in hearing aid beige and chrome knobs. The signal was recorded at a level to make any slight degradation show the flashing colours, not the quality of the tape itself.
I donāt know either way on better physical media for rental but it would make sense given the amount of times they were going to be played.
I remember thinking I was pirate master when i got it but after wasting an entire weekend copying tapes which I sold for less than the cost of hiring the films never mind the cost of the tapes I sort of lost enthusiasm.
I did have a flurry of sales when I got Reservoir Dogs and Clock Work Orange from a holiday in Malta as they were both unavailable in the UK at the time, even got my Nan involved swapping the tapes over due to the back orders.š
Also found a big box VHS of Death race 2000 and one called Sakura killers which box art looks suspiciously like Shinobi.
