Nothings free with Audi. I think the options on my Etron (black edition, pro something or other I forget 😁) were about 20k, it's a very pleasant place to sit though. I did originally order an ipace that was cheaper and probably better specced but honestly the only thing I probably miss are ventilated seats but with pre conditioning that's not really an issueMy car has a rear electric sun blind on the back window, 17 speaker Mark Levinson sound system, heated & cooled ventilated seats, blind spot, electric steering column, plush red leather interior, rear cam + loads more of the usual & only the mid range model.
Where by the sister in laws e tron had none of that even though it was at least 10 years newer just seamed like you were paying for the ev stuff & got a basic car they have a Tesla now & the seats in it look like they came from a Fiesta but it makes "fart" sounds.
Are we looking at paying twice just to get some mod cons
My favourite thing is not having to fill up and fork out the cash, only downside is I can't grab a quick snickers at the garage anymore 😥
🙄 I like having lunch more than once every 18 months 😁Well you can get a full lunch while recharging at a station![]()
Do the maths, how many miles a week do you drive? On a granny charger I get around 20% of the battery charged in 5 hours. Thats now in winter. Will go up in warmer Weather. Hence me charging between 1am till 6am on 5p an hour . i dont do a lot of mileage so it’s not worth my While spending around a grand on a charger.wso, the next question is, i have no clue about chargerseather.
i have found one that can charge at 22kw, which is deemed as fast charge, is it worth the extra cost and is it overkill for the home when you can just leave it charge overnight and when you are not using it?
also, anyone recommend a company that fits them, seems like even worse than choosing a car there are so many options
looking for charger recommendations and fitters now

Granny charger is the 3 pin uk plug we use . Called a granny charger as it charges the slowestwhat is a granny charger?
the chargers seem to come in 7 and 22kw variants, are you using your normal plug, is that what you are calling a granny charger?
cheers mate, sounds perfectA regular charger is fine. Get one that is compatible with your car and electricity supplier.
For me, with no solar etc, Octopus gives the best rate. All EV charging is 6.5p (or thereabouts). If you use smart charging you get the lower rate 24/7 otherwise all electricity you use is at the lower rate from 11:30 -7:30 or so.
I use an Ohme Home Pro which I control with an app. It gives a full charge overnight in about 7 hours and uses the mains to preheat in the morning.
I went to Ohme directly and they arranged installation. It was £999 or so all in. They were quick and fitted everything really well.
My Ohme installation was a fucking nightmare took a total of 4 visits and I still think it's wired wrong as if I turn off the EV supply it turns off the entire house as well. The app also conflicts with the audi software so I've had to turn off the communication with the car. Personally I'd rather just plug it in and let the octopus app control charge times but I'm currently stuck with this Ohme crap driving me mental 😁A regular charger is fine.
