Not Dinosaur related at all, but here is the Caliphate so far...

I may need to start my own Isis club, but it may need a disclaimer...

Like many others I happily got my Dino King from Muddymusic and also managed to buy some extra credits from another forum member. I have a control panel from Virtvic but will keep it playing the original game until the credits run out.

Is there no way to trick the game into thinking its getting credits? Or not a type of freeplay? So you can carry on playing Dino King?

So, this is the deal with the RFID checking as I understand it*

-
The original Japanese version of the cab had no RFID check or credits to use. SEGA only implemented this for later territories after arcade ops in Asia started printing their own cards.
So you could get the original Japanese version and play forever, if you can deal with the Jap audio & text.

- The RFID readers in the cabinets are actually generic reader / writer
units. This means the chips could be re-written with 800 credits as if
they were new.. if someone had a program to do that, and knew what data
had to be written.

- The system SP board checks the software on the CF first, and then does the RFID checks afterwards. So it would be possible to hack the US / Euro version of the game, to stop doing any RFID checking at all. I've never seen a hacked version of the game.

(* some of this may be urban myth, passed to me during evenings of drunken arcade madness)

Nearly finished the Love & Berry Mame cab for my other half. Wish i could of took pics and video with it on stair lift to get it up to bedroom, was quite funny. Fitted trackball so she can play more games

have few bits to finish like wiring for light gun, artwotk. Will be converting the other 4 i have sometime, so i'll add a few more to the thread

Really good these great little cabs have been saved and hope non or very few got scrapped before they startdd to get used properly.

Will upload pic when home as cant do very easy on phone

Cant wait to get mine done now as ive got tons of cool ideas for them.

Some cracking conversions here so far. MVS one is superb. So nice you can have a setup that u probably hadnt room for buy fit it in one of these u could probably get it in downstairs toilet to play instead of reading paper lol

Cut the Control Panel out myself, just the usual tools. Jigsaw, drill, hole punch was hopeless on 2mm steel despite the paperwork with the Q-Max stating it can do 3mm steel! so had to use the hammered step drills the damn Stainless Steel panels I fitted on 2 Goliaths

Decided after much wasted time the best place for speakers is under control panel, with mame setup you might as well have stereo sound, so smaller speakers and subwoofer inside the door

LoveBerry03.jpg

Control Panel nice and tidy, with trackball and 10 buttons it gets messy

Gigabyte PC board, my fav make, so stable and reliable like Honda Cars

It's X2 II 270 CPU 3.4g so not too bad. Try to use the orginal cables in the cabs as much as possible and just added Jamma loom so it can play original pcb's if and when

Not done too much with mine externally..A superbly made control panel made by Vic, with Sanwa parts added to it, the Perspex is due to be replaced soon when my new one from Flynn reaches Olly, and I see whats available to be printed.

Internally, its Jamma loomed, and is running a 3Ghz (or something like that) Intel i5 PC pushing a very complete Groovymame setup off an SSD drive to the existing monitor via a JPAC. it is powerful enough to play the chd games like NFL Blitz at 100%. Gameex is the front end, It will boot from powerup to game in about 15 seconds.
