Are there any other price points?

11.95 is OK-ish for an hour if there are also other price points like £15 for 4 hrs, £20 all day etc... as it gives a cheaper option for someone with only an hr to spare (waiting other half shopping etc). If its 11.95 for every hour then that is very pricey compared to Arcade Club (even allowing for that North/South divide ; )

My question is how are they policing it ?? You pay for an hr , half way through your game you geg a tap on the shoulder ? If thag havd an all day , 2 hr ect how the hell do they know who is who. Makes no business sense what so ever.

Ludicrous !

Dave.

£11.95 per hour ?? Is this correct ??? If so it wont be open for long IMO. I can hire a lady of the night for less than that ! Not a classy one but still !

That's crazy prices! I love seeing arcades pop up but... that's far too much imo.

If you are in the south or more specifically south west go to Timewarp Arcade. Last time i went it was £10 entry and unlimited time there/play on machines.

The chap who owns it is a really lovely chap too. Been going for many years now. Recently expanded to 2 floors of retro gaming goodness.

Provided they have a good selection of equipment, £10 an hour all you can play is pretty reasonable, given a credit in a modern arcade tends to be £1-£2.

My local arcade has a similar setup with discounts for groups and is always busy, with a good selection of recent arcade games and pinball.

The good thing is that the number of people who can attend each bookable session is limited in numbers to a small group, all machines are cleaned after each session and well looked after. It's a safe environment with staff walking around You don't get people hanging around or getting in the way etc.

The main clientele are families or teenagers who want an hour or so, you won't stay in business if you run an arcade for somebody who wants to spend 5 hours setting a high score on one credit and then goes off to eat there packed lunch or whatever without spending anything else.:D

I beg to differ actually. Timewarp Arcade do very well and have recently expanded so this business model does in fact work well at least for their location. I've been in there setting high scores on their Rave Racer before and no problems at all. It's a very chill atmosphere even when busy. The owner is an arcade collector too so he ensures the machines are all taken care of as best he can.
