CHALLENGE CARDS at the UKVAC Timewarp meetup announcement.

We have on offer something that no-one in the world has right now, a combined UKVAC and Timewarp Mug which we will be offering as prizes tomorrow for First and Second place prizes.

What you must do between 1pm and 6pm is to be the fastest to complete EIGHT Challenges out of 12 . These are fairly straight forward games and won’t take too long to complete, but as soon as you reach your challenge take a photo of the score and move on to the next game, if there is game crowding then you might have to find another machine on the list to compete with but you must be play fair.

We want you to play our games and not just talk, so why not have a challenge.

To enter, it is FREE but donations will be welcome. You need a challenge card and we will put a start time with your UKVAC Username (or Name), as you complete the challenges you must tick off and PHOTO YOUR HIGHSCORE and place your FINISH time with me DAVE ROWLAND and I will calculate your game time.

Sometime after 6pm we will announce the winners.

Will be coming, despite not managing to magically fix my 928's speedo.

Think it's a ground issue as both the speedo and tachometer (revs?) are seemingly out, whereas the rest is fine.

ANYWAY, yes, mum's let me use her car, innit ... so, motoring down and hope to be there for between 4-5.

If anyone wants picking up between Hillingdon to the venue, I'll probably take the M4-M5 route, if they've stopped those *fucking* 50 zones.

I don't have a mobile / cell, though, so ... one of us may be waiting somewhere for a bit. ;)

edit
well, that's spot on! ... Leaving the buttcombe pub / inn in 10m ... Arcade first, then Asda takeout for boozes and foodses.

I can echo this.
I have to say what an pleasure it has been meeting all you guys. Timewarp arcade is absolutely awesome but everybody I have met this evening have been brilliant to chat to and that is what made the evening.

Thanks so much to everyone involved.
Lovely night, lovely people, and lovely games.

Picked up some knowledge, didn't grep a couple of punchlines, passed on good advice on herbal vaping, and crucially ... CRUCIALLY ... drank a blue WKD.

Also, what a great place Timewarp Arcade is, a quality arcade with a good plan, and great machines.

Thanks to everyone that had a hand in organising things!

I can safely say that myself, Stu, Luke and others really enjoyed the night, if anything the arcade has never had so many people who are interested in the old games playing at once, Timewarp is just that a step back in time and project Stuart and Luke set out to do 11 years ago on shoe-string budget and when machines were very cheap. The first UKVAC meet hosted by @shaunholley and @Nintendo Arcade where we setup a extra area at for us to spill over and it worked fairly well. We counted 35-37 people that turned up, we also supplied a pizza and chips to feed the masses.
We tried our first Challenge Cards tournament which about 10 of you signed up to and we had TWO winners, in FIRST PLACE is Tony Riccardi and SECOND PLACE went to Matt 'Gorf' (Garrett?) who came runners up in coming second. Both received a Timewarp + UKVAC Mug that will be pride and joy of their tea collection.

I want to thank those for giving the 'short-notice' competition a go and may do a variation of that again, but that you all for coming and making @Timewarp-Stu happy.

I enjoyed my brief visit during the day, so missed the evening do. Going through a bit of a rough patch so can only manage short periods of socialising at the mo.

Thanks to the organisers. Maybe I'll be up for a longer stay next time. Negotiating the Bridgwater road system sapped most of my energy. Haha

Thanks for putting this on guys. It was great to catch up with a few faces that I hadn't seen for many years and I apologise for not speaking to the majority of people but sadly I'm someone that simply isn't up to just putting themselves out there to talk to people I don't know (yeah, yeah, I know, "how do you get to know people if you don't talk to them" etc., etc.). Anyway, I was the one with the Ace Frehley t-shirt on (RIP).

I'll definitely be heading up again at some point given I'm local as there's a lot more there of interest that I realised.

Great meeting you all yesterday! Big thanks to everyone who made it happen and making a newbie feel welcome.

Tony speed running through Pacland was a sight to behold, Matt making light work of me at Street Fighter and all the chats with everyone were great.

Cheers guys see you at the next one!

I think we needed a break from reality, yes BW just introduced a one-way system too which is hated by many. Sorry for getting you mixed up with giz10p but hope u had a good time.
