I wouldn't be brave enough to disassemble something to that extent

I quite frequently break Naomi cabs down, just like a giant Mecarno set.. LOVE IT !!! :)

How else do you get an ID3 in your living room :)

I remember this! My old Volvo! We got a complete Naomi Universal, some spare Naomi plastics, 2 or 3 Naomi panels, loads of NOS art and about 80 pcbs in it.

And that included me, Rav and AndyC in the car also for the journey home - haha, and we managed to close the boot once we remove the leg levellers.

Awesome :) Cracking you have those pix still!

Setch - find the dance machine/Voyager pics stat! If I hadn't help load I wouldn't have believed it

.

I've got a load of photos somewhere of an Electrocoin NeoGeo and an Op Wolf cab in the back of a 900cc Japanese minivan (Suzuki Swift style thing?) that I'm looking for. The van was lethal without any cabs in as a small fart would give it air but once you got a few hundred pounds of chipboard in the cornering was vastly improved :)

Don't think I've got any photos of the time I picked up a Hard Drivin' cockpit and forgot the ratchet straps but when we were taking it though the twisty and windy hills of Yorkshire, the sole bit of manky blue poly rope I'd found and tethered the cockpit with broke on a bend and the cockpit slid in the back of the van with enough force to bunny-hop the van sideways on subsequent corners. Which made hitting the country road apexes a bit tricky ;)

Then there was the time the only van we could rent was a POS boxy thing. My girlfriend who was driving was keen to get through what would be a pretty long day so was pushing the rusty crapper for all its worth (the plus side was that it was so old, it didn't have any kind of limiter. The down side was that the brick shape was a very effective aero limiter). It wasn't until a couple of days later when I was figuring out the costs that I realised she'd been pushing the most un-areodynamic thing on 6 wheels so hard that we'd got about 6 MPG out of it. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a long road trip - Midlands, down south, Yorks, Midlands - so the single digit MPG equated to something like £300 in diesel :(

Guess that's the price you pay for driving a box van like its a Lancia Delta Integrale on a motorway rally stage

and I'm pretty sure I've got a photo of the satnav speedo readout showing enough for an instant ban in a car, let alone a van

. Never saw that van again as the hire gypsys had 'retired' it next time we needed one. I think perhaps the head had mysteriously warped...

I used to have an Astra from which I would remove all of the seats apart from the drivers one. Picked up many a cab in that - remember getting a Centi from Kip down in Chelmsford in...ooooh, 2002-ish?

I also had a Toyota Avensis Estate - once strapped a Star Wars cockpit to the roof of it - luckily the police didn't spot me.

I also collected an Atari Steeplechase and Jet Fighter from P-Man in it - JF across the rear doors and Steeplechase hanging about 3 feet out of the back all the way from Luton.

Heh. I'd heard stories of an SWC on a car roof but thought it an urban legend

Are you 'avin' a giraffe mate?

I don't have any pictures of cabs in my car as the first Sega Aero City I bought I drove a 520 mile round trip to find it wouldn't fit in the car
smiley18.gif

I stopped over on the Saturday night then on Sunday tried all sorts of different "hung over" ideas to ram this cab into my Nissan Almera but no joy. We even considered drilling out the pop rivets at one point! I returned home empty and sent a courier to pick the cab up a few weeks later.

FWIW, Minehead is a great place for a pub crawl and Guddler and his significant other are the perfect hosts - too perfect in fact as that would account for the mother of all hangovers and the fact that I fitted my own kitchen last year

Cheers d00dz,

Yes, all I can say is I really did feel for you that day! I know what that journey is like having done it many times for work and it's not good at the best of times, let alone what it must have been like going home empty handed!!

On the plus side, I do always say when advertising my cabs, "come for a day or weekend at the sea-side"

And the kitchen is now a distant memory - though I've STILL not finished the grouting. Funnily enough, a mate was round earlier and the subject of ceilings came up, and I remembered us stood in the kitchen at some silly hour of the morning, beers in hand gabbering on, staring up at a bare roof that used to be a lathe and plaster ceiling

Wakefield to GuddlerVille and empty handed? I think I'd have had to strap it to the roof, or strap something to the roof at least!

In lieu of cab pics for that one, any pix of Ralph's face as the dimensions of the cab became clear?
