Had a good day, plenty of gaming, good few rounds on the Quake 2 setup again as well, plus finally got a go on an Occulus Rift, quite impressed!.

So engrossed in playing Hotrod at the end that I didn't even spot you were recording cmonkey!

Got that damn little tune stuck in my head as well from when it goes into the garage for upgrades.. .

(you can hear it in the background of the other 2 clips as well..)

Good to see the usual bunch again, apologies for missing saying goodbye to a few of ya, dashed off for a quick pint in the bar with Tony & Colin before hightailing it to the train station.

I thought I'd taken some excellent photo's of the cabs in action yesterday. When I review them this morning, however, they are mostly of white squares on black backgrounds.

The Hotrod was awesome. Really great, competitive game that we had at the end of the day. You can see in the video I ran out of gas first

Shaun introduced me to the Space Zap. That was a cool game

Also played on a few that I've never played on cabs before - Black Widow, Qbert, Powerdrift and Crossbow

I was really disappointed with the Mario Bros wideboy. I thought it was pants.

Good to meet up with the usual people again, and talk to some new ones

I took a walkaround video at the end of the day and will upload shortly

Had a good time yesterday, it was good to catch up with some familiar faces and to do some gaming in grubby blackpool.

Very good selection of dedicated machines, very few went down and stood the pace.

We witnessed Jon reach the kill screen towards the end of the night, well played Jon.

Here's my video:

Thanks for sharing! I have never seen such a huge variety of classic cabs in one place; it looks even better than last year. A shame to see one or two machines switched off (Virtua Fighter 2
smiley19.gif
) and at one point was that a bloke putting his drink on top of the cab

Yeah, unfortunately I saw all too many occurrences of this yesterday. I'd be mortified if they were my cabs and people did that. This is one of the problems with loaning cabs out to an event like this, the non-owners of the cabs have little to no respect for that fact that some of these machines are worth considerable amounts of money and they don't particularly like to drink alcohol. Of course having the bar area right next to the arcade didn't help either.

I think the cabs switched off were Replays cabs? I think this goes for the Op wolf and Gauntlet Legends?

The crossbow was working in the day as I played on it, but as I did the walkaround (at the end of the day) it was off.

Battlezone was broken awell but I think that's fixed today

Yes, unfortunately quite a few dicks were putting drinks on top of the cabinets

Definately. I think something needs to be done about this for next time? Will anyone take notice of posters up saying do not put your drinks on the cabinets?

Or get more helpers to be walking round informing players to remove their drinks and to not put them on the cabinets?

I didn't spot anyone putting drinks up on top until I just watched that video, always assumed it's common sense that electrickles + liquids = **BAD** apparently not everyone does..

Another reason I'm always thankful to those who loan out their machines for events like these, I'm not sure I'd be able to let it out of the door if/when I get hold of an ID cab or other grail!

Would have asked/told people not to if I'd seen anyone purely from a fellow enthusiast point of view.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable day today, sure it will be as good as yesterday.

Just got back from the event with my two boys.

I've not been to Play Blackpool before, and it was much bigger and better than I expected - outstanding selection of cabs, and great to bump into the usual guys and have a natter. Almost missed the traders' hall though, and we only wandered in by accident.

I resisted the urge to buy one of those mini-drone thingies, though it was very tempting.

It was my youngest's first event and he was really excited about going, and absolutely loved it.

I'll get some pics up as soon as I can.

Well done to everyone involved.
