Nearer the time we will most likely put up a UKVAC meeting point location and time, for those that want to meet up!

That'd be good. Think I'm coming with a mate who's keen on looking at the Occulus Rift (SP?) thing. Can't wait to see the Cabs and the pins again.

TBH I'm hoping there is a bit more this year, half the hall was empty aside form the vastly inflated food vans and if you removed the Konami & EA stuff even less, even if they just made for wider isles etc for peeps to get around.
The food vans weren't that cheap I agree but the beer was a fair price imo. I really need to get out of driving there

I'mslightly interested in the OR, but it may just turn into another fad device and garner little support, I have a 3D proj which is great for gaming but even with Nvidia making most games work the actual effect cab be lost due to devs not making an effort to give pop out the work needed (you just get games with depth planes).

Try it @ PlayExpo...then make your mind up.

I have had over 5 different head sets ALL claiming to be the next gen Hardware...

Then sit idle as lack of interest..crap 3d immersion etc...

NOTHING has impressed me TBH...

UNTIL NOW !!!

The Oculus Rift will be as popular as the Raspberry Pi...

Sony, Ea Games, Steam etc are looking to invest big time...

THIS IS THE FUTURE....

Over 1 million sales is niche?? Perhaps ?

But I don't think the BIG Players would get involved if it wasn't gunna sell in droves...

Try it @ PlayExpo (I think you will change your mind)

1 million sales out of how many billion people, and on this site alone many have bought then sold or left collecting dust their Pi's, Valve ports to linux, users on that platform decreased this month (Steam platform).

Dreamcast and even better Virtual boy, case rested!

I never said I wouldn't try it

Personally I'm really looking forward to seeing the OR in action, my only concern is that it will be as good as it seems, then I won't be able to afford one!

Must ask the dev of Lunar Flight if he's going to be at Play, as he said a while back there going to be using it as one of the demo/showcase titles.

Only PC based ones I've ever tried were with my ye olde Asus 6800 Delux GeForce 1 card, but they were the shutter type, and after 5 mins of playing Quake 3 the flickering just gave me a headache!
