Hi All,
As the days get a little longer and lighter. I am curious to see what arcade restorations Vacers have planned over the Spring and Summer ?
Doesn’t have to be a full cabinet restoration necessarily, Could be a nagging fix to sort or an overlay change.
Always inspiring and motivating to see what people are taking on and offer help where needed.

I've got the below on my hit-list, though would really like to get them done before summer comes and goes!

- Teamplay Centipede/Millipede/Missile Command that was converted to frig knows what, cp is full of holes so trying to get that welded back together. Managed to get the original board from some guy in the US through KLOV so hoping the wiring up will be smooth…
- PAC 25” jamma machine - this had a neo geo 4 slot in it but it wasn’t working so going to have it as a standard cab. I need to sort the monitor chassis then put a new loom in. Artworks pretty decent on it and it just needs a good clean.
- Some generic modern machine that I bought from eBay - I must have been drunk because it’s bloody awful And covered in garish art. It has a crt in it though, but needs looking at.
-Playchoice scene 20” - nice cab but the jamma connector Snagged and so needs a new loom, other than that its in decent condition.

Want to give my Astro City a little clean up and tidy before I list it up for sale

I have a Donkey Kong cabinet (ground up refurb for another member) to rebuild and paint. Have all the parts serviced and ready to drop in. Just waiting for the consistent weather and a free weekend.

Also have two Neo Geo U4 cabs to restore and currently testing/sorting out the monitors for that. Have all the new artwork/controls etc. etc. for both cabs ready to drop in once the cabs are tidied up and monitors serviced. I'm regretting taking on two of them actually! I only feel like I have the energy for one with the other stuff going on too!

If anyone wants to take it on PM me!

Have a Naomi Universal project cab that will stay in the shed until probably late summer. Don't even want to look at it right now!

Finally, I have a couple of bits of bodywork and side art to throw on my main Donkey Kong cab.

Oh yeah! I have a sweet US Playchoice single screen coming on PJs container from Coinopwarehouse at some point this summer. Monitor needs a service and I have a new CPO for it.

Busy times!

Funny you say about Mini Claw machine as I'm working on (on/off about 3 years) Kids size Grabber which was old Glendale Elephant cabinet I thought was a shame dump as no one wanted it and turn into Grabber, got internals from a Big one which wasn't ideal as ive had to resize a lot of parts to fit this smaller cabinet
Just scanned some artwork after sticking spare original on Control panel as I couldn't scan it being all folded up

It wasn't worth starting it to be honest because it probably won't sell for more than £300 and going on prices of these sold in spares I would have been better off selling them plus i'll be spent so much time on it when finished but it's not far off now, just need it out my way so gotta crack on and get it finished

If I can be bothered it's work on my cars I need to do, get this engine sat in the extension in the CRX and running and finish body work on it as I would like to drive it

Zaccaria Track & Field cab - respray black metalwork (again), send chassis off for repair, send Hyper Olympic 84 PCB out for repair, fit switcher and both Hyper Olympics and '84 PCBS. Play lots.

JAMMA cab 1 - fit new buttons, working chassis off for service, possibly replace loom (or more likely fit one of QJUK's voltmeter passthroughs) to stop me misaligning pins as some muppet in the past has cut the female edge conector), fully strip down cab, paint all metal work, sand and paint cab, replace t-moulding and possibly get a new marquee, bezel and CPO made up.

Electrocoin SCI - Chassis out for repair, trim down baseplate by a couple of mm so the new steel trim I had fabricated fits properly, fit ribbed rubber matting and pray the PCB still works.

JAMMA cab 2 - probably feel bad that the others have had some work down and as this is my old faithful treat it to something that it probably doesn't even need. To be fair, it's probably just metal work again on that one, but I'd like to get some control panels made up for it and come up with an elaborate swappable panel system.

Sadly, all of the above rely on how much the builder wants to do some work for us first though.

I think it will be cool, the elephant cab is like an exact 2/3rd replica, so will look legit.... just smaller
TBH I probably underestimated the cost, the wood not too bad but all the little bits add up, probably not far off just buying one in terms of cost when its all done, but its all good fun learning.

I was surprised how much the internals were to buy 2nd hand but I won complete machine minus the huge cab for £1  but really needed one for smaller cab. it's still quite big cab the Elephant, just low down for kids to use, could use sat on stool though

Bought 2 slim Chinese ones that looked quite nice, £150 for 2, got one working for other half, few weeks and smoke and never got round to sorting it yet as I'm sure it will be a nightmare, was good while it lasted as I said so you use it, put ya crisps in it and when you have lunch use the crane to pick which you want, need to try and fix them at somepoint though better quality internals from older machines maybe best bet

I really wanted one of the diddy Chinese ones, but getting delivered here proved an issue. Gantry and controller came from Ali.
Fingers crossed its reliable, seems spare boards etc are readily available from a few sellers.

Idea is to stick it on tokens or pound coins, winnable from the coin pusher, should keep the kids busy.

I've got the slave side dashboard to do on my Daytona restoration: -
http://ukvac.com/forum/threads/daytona-twin-restoration.80570/

I've sourced a coin tower for it too which'll need a refurb and the slave side leader lamp isn't wired up correctly.

After that it'll be either be fixing Crazy Taxi (I think the PSU fried the buffer chips in the cart ) or finally getting Terminator 2 working
