I just tested all of my 4116s, along with starting on the pot of untested / unsorted ram chips (pulls, car boots etc.)

I did about 80 sram, dram - all sorts. 41256's take a while, but its easy enough to use, does several passes on each chip (different write patterns etc.)

A couple of 4116 went into the bin, a couple of 6116 and one turned out to be a galaxian character ROM (it identifies it as well with the sd card fitted)

The web page they give you access to is damn good at identifying equivalents, it's amazing how many ram chips turn out to be 6116s o_O

as a sideline, if anyone needs one I have a few surplus 2708 programmer PCBs for it. I set mine to 25v, but not attempted using it yet.

Update : All ram chips tested (except for 3, need to build an adapter for those)

now to test programming a 2708 (reads them OK, so half way there. I'm just waiting on the wifi adapter for the SD Card, so I don't have to keep putting it in and out to access the data)

2708 programming adapter works as well, so well worth the effort of putting it all together.

I celebrated by getting a case for it, so it even looks professional!

Here it is, along with the 2708 programming adapter and a wi-fi adapter for the SD Card (so I can just open it as a shared drive from my PC)
