Good Morning All

Does anyone know how to configure a bluetooth controller with RGB-PI, I borrowed a PS4 Controller, i am able to pair it, it detects it after pressing the Playstation button and Share and then under bluetooth says Wireless Controller but then going into Configure controller wont allow me to add controller 3, 1 and 2 are Jamma on my Jamma Cab.

Any Ideas?

I have just revisited the website for this, not been following it lately but see they have a new beta version of the OS.

How are people getting on with this ? - I certainly had some issues with my 3 button cab with the button mapping, but other than that was a nice piece of kit.

I much prefer it but also having issues with the 3 player button mapping.

Arcade Classics work great but the Mega Drive and PC Engine that I tried are all over the place, I think you can change the button configuration in Retro Arch config file though, but I've not done that yet. If you or anyone else figures it out please post here.

Final version was posted on the 27-05-20. Definitely more polished front end now than the first version. Most 2 button games in arcade classics were already configured and played from the off however I've not tried any other emulators as yet.

RGB-Pi OS 2 (FINAL 1.0 20200527)
  • Changed scraper DB files and folder structure for improved performance and allow internal duplicated Ids across different systems
  • Changed scraper engine for displaying USA/EU titles by default, JP titles when JP lang is selected and full rom file name when no info is found
  • Added new Auto Scrape system option to disable Scraper on Search Games
  • Fixed memory leak when refreshing game menus
  • Fixed custom skin backgrounds in TATE mode
  • Fixed selector layer in Classic Purple skin
  • Added additional characters to the virtual keyboard
  • Fixed NEOGEO helper colors

Right..... Initial issues with OS V2.... I'm kind of expecting them to be similar to OS V1 as I ran into issues with the player button mappings.

There is a secret menu that allows you to test the Jamma inputs (well at least for player 1). This is all well and good,you use.... up down left right b b b start... to enter advanced options / hidden menu

So.... I am seeing P1 buttons 1,2 and 3 appearing as 0,1 and 7 ( I'd expect to see 0,1 and 2 as they start with button 0 - yes blame the devs !!), while another 'six button' user reports..... 1 to 6 as 0,1,7,4,5 and 8 !! I have reported this the forum, but no response yet. They seem to be ignoring us Jamma users and in the past, blaming the emulator configs.

If the OS does not see the Jamma inputs correctly, how the hell are the emulators expected to see them ?

Please can you report this on the discord forum..... especially now that they have the input test in place via the secret menu, they cannot really deny there is an issue !!

I'm sure once the initial input issues are dealt with, it will help ease other issues.

Don't suppose anyone's ordered one during lockdown and can tell me how long it took to arrive?

Or anyone that ordered one back in the precedented times, it's been nearly 2 weeks which I don't think is unreasonable given international shipping and everything else I'm just curious.

(Also does it get handled by the regular post once it gets to our shores?)

However I still seem to be having some issues... especially with the 3rd button.

Latest thing that I have been told is with 3 or 4 button cabs, Don't bother to try to remap the buttons and leave with the default settings.

It's something like if you have a 4 (or 3) button cab and you map the buttons in the menu, when you skip 5 and 6 (and 4 if a 3 button cab) , buttons 3 and 4 get mapped to 5 and 6 automatically which is bonkers as you have clearly just mapped them to 3 and 4 and skipped 5 and 6. I cannot find any mention of this in the documentation !!! - The input test also lets it down, as it only lists the raw inputs. So you can't test that your button mapping other than using it to navigate the menu. With this button switch-around, I'm even more unsure of what actual buttons are mapped into the emulators !! - It's just layer upon layer of confusion.

The OS is very good and simple enough to use, but I think the Jamma support is a bit sloppy and poorly implemented. This could of course be down to the RetroArch system that is is built upon.

The developer isn't very helpful, it is possibly the language barrier. He does not seem to like constructive criticism and possible bug reports. So if I try to report that I'm having issues, I end up being frustrated over the whole thing.

This is a shame as I think this is a really good product and has a lot of potential.

Everything is working great for me in the Arcade Classics / PC Engine / MS / NES emulators but the Mega Drive, button C isn't working

Yes, I have that exact issue too.

I also cannot get into the retroarch menu using hotkey +3 (which I presume is start +3).

Good Morning All

Did anyone have any luck with this

Im using the OS2 Final Image and can only map 2 out of the 6 buttons on my Blast City

button 1 registers as 0

button 2 registers as 1

start button registers as 11

i cannot get any other buttons to register at all

Having issues with some games not syncing on my cab monitor which is a Hantarex MTC9000, games such as Raiden and R-type just do not sync wheter I set to 50hz or 60hz anyone else had this issue?
