Had a great time at RGP's..met some great ppl, some new faces some familier ones as well....

It was great to see James's fantastic collection of cabs again, also the news on the new venture this coming May is a must for anyone thinking about popping their RGP cherry, you will not be disapointed FACT...

Thank you for James and Carol for making such a great party, you guys both deserve medals for putting on such a great event (James was saying today that Carol does a hell of a lot of background work and does a fantastic 'PA' role

Looking forward to the new partys at the new venue this coming May and it was said a good few times by various ppl that the new venture is the start of something really special within the arcade community, and that is got to be a massive plus for all us old farts who want to re-live our youth

I thanked Mr & Mrs RGP this morning, on my way back to London via text, but a HUGE thanks on here to every one who came too - for a truly magnificent event

As usual, RGP surprised every one with the announcement of the hadronhypereventcityarcadepremises (tm) - probably the (un)best kept secret ever!

So glad we can finally unbutton our chops to talk about it

Alex and I are excited to be part of the BIGGEST arcade thing to hit the UK. I have seen and talked about some of the upcoming things that will be happening in the not too distant future (in a galaxy far away...)

James also had one last surprise for us (which I didn't have any idea about) with some top flight recording gear for our podcast, so we now will be stepping up to Smashey and Nicey territory. Not sure which one I will be, but NICE!

Massive thanks go to Carol too - an excellent hostess. They make a top team together.

U72 gets a whopping thumbs up too for half of the planning etc and I had some top conversations with him, concerning some very exciting projects coming up. Can not wait for those to materialise.

All in all - a massive positive shot in the arm for arcade enthusiast in the UK.

Onward and very surely upward.

One last thing - loved the posters, not sure about the 'eye candy' next to them...

Additional - a few pictures taken of a bunch of arcade bids enjoying themselves.

I also re-found my love for DigDug (again) and will be hammering my machine again regularly. I did throw a top score on that one and put up a 104k score on Crazy Kong, which I never seem to get familiar with. Also popped up a top score on Karate Champ...

Had some interesting chats with Pman and Oll amongst a host of others....

Cracking night James, thanks as always. Will miss the old place when you go to the unit, it had such a homely atmosphere. As usual I spent too much time playing games and not enough socialising.

Cant wait till the opening weekend.

Hey all!
Oustanding party James!! :)

Amazing to see so many working machines which continued to function all night!
Big thx to Luke, Andy and anyone else involved this and the future venture.
The new venue will be 'the' place in the UK, and excellent for both the community and Arcade gaming in the UK.
Great to see such support and people helping each other to a common goal.
To organise a completely
new venue is a mammoth undertaking both in terms of effort and cost.

Please, lets all help and support RGP going forwards.

All the best,
DaveO.

I had great time at the party. I would like to thank James and Carol for having us all round and providing great food and a great place to meet up. I wonder how many (sane) people would have this many people round there house, playing on there expensive toys!

Met some great people for the first time plus a few old friends. I also had some of the greatest home made and cooked pizza ever devised by man. Also witnessed some great games playing with loads of high scores. Realised I am sh*t at games....... still love playing them though!

Bonus points of the party seeing the reveal of the NEW ARCADE! I would also like to say having seen some of the work in progress. Congrats and well done to James (RGP) and Andy (U72) for having the testicles to actually have a dream and make it reality. Having seen the scale of the place in person and seeing it coming to life I have to say..... It's gonna be good! IT WILL WORK!!!

I big thank you to Mark (singy1uk) too who has put a lot of sweat and effort into the construction of the place with the builders. Thanks to Alex (chuckie egg) the brick ninja who built the the walls faster than I have ever seen a brickie move (that said most builders/brickies just sit, chat and drink tea)!

Again a big thank you to all

Cheers John....I think I was looking a bit scared there because I thought there was a fight starting...heard a bang and some glass smashing....but then you appeared looking guilty and picking up broken glass :)

Looks like an ace time was had by all, so is there an official thread/post/news on this "secret" project arcade? Sounds very exciting.
