Yes.

The ribbon cable coming our of metal panel inside the control panel will need plugging into the monitor chassis (Cant remember where) as its the controls for adjusting the picture. It wont show a proper picture if it isnt connected.

The red plug pictured I think are for the speaker connections, or that may be the grey shielded one show in the control panel pics, doesnt look like there is the original amplifier so these should be wired to the Jamma edge connector, not sure that red connector should be plugged into the white one as pictured, is that white one the red/black wires from the monitor?

Biggest issue you might have if seller has lost the bolts is there should be some spacers and rubber rings to properly locate the monitor on the 4 threaded bars that stick out from the black cross bars.

These need to be the right size for the monitor as there are 2 different sizes for the Sanwa and Nanao Monitors, someone may have spare ones lying about if you put up a wanted add though.

Hi thanks again for your help yes the white one is the red and black from the monitor didn't think the red connector should have been plugged into it, where does the white connector plug into it isn't a long cable, I've added a pic where I think the ribbon cable plugs in on the chassis.
Thanks again Brian

Should be something coming off that metal panel with the red buttons inside the control panel, as the degauss button I think will be on there, you dont necessarily need it connected as the monitor will work without it, but if the colours are messed up a degauss usually fixes, usually you would get that from rotating the cab after or while the monitor is powered up. From memory those red buttons also do the service/test for what would have been the Naomi board originally and there was a loom that plugged into the end of the board that went to the JVS I/O for the service/test buttons and had a plug hanging off the loom for the degauss cable.

Also in the your pictures in case your not aware, the monitor is upside down, chassis should be at the bottom and cables coming out on the left if looking directly at the screen.

Yes ribbon cable plugs in there, the red wire on the plug should go to pin 1 if its marked, I think you can only plug it in one way though, without brute force and ignorance off course.

Thanks again.

I wouldn't bother getting the proper security ones with the cab being so modified from an original Naomi anyway, Just get hex dome head bolts, much easier to remove instead of searching for the security bits.

Something like this, although not sure if thats the right size or if they are 6mm.

Pretty sure the ones to fix the legs to the base are the same hex head as should be holding the control panel in place.

You also need smaller ones to bolt the leg covers and leg tops on.

If you have the ceiling space the legs covers can be slid on from the top, if not I would recommend unbolting the control panel to fit the leg covers by hooking them on the front side and sliding over the back at an angle and then bolt the control panel back on.

Your probably right what is the point wasn't thinking like that, what I see is majority are m6,m8 and m4 just need to see what length and get flange nuts to go with them if needed.
Then I'll see about getting a new jamma loom as I think it might be quicker to do that than soldering and heat shrink about 30 wires 😭

I believe service manual will outline the specific length you need for M4, M6 & M8 screws.

If not mistaken the control panel wiring looks like it’s still wired to the original male AMP UP connectors. Bit of work but you would need to wire new Jamma loom P1 & P2 connections to female AMP UP connectors and the male AMP UP connectors in CP would connect directly to female AMP UP connectors.

Keeping all that CP wiring nice and neat/close to the original, but if the CP wiring has been cut and your looking solder wires with shrink wrap you can ignore the AMP UP suggestion.

If needed, I can make up a Naomi kick-harness cable/s so it enables P1 & P2 kick buttons for 6 button games (it would be 3-part cable using AMP UP connectors)

Cheers

Hi all looking to fit the monitor in my Naomi cab today it is a ms2932 with the right bezel,I have the bushes and spacers that hopefully fit this so was wondering what order they go on ie what do I put on first before the monitor then what goes on after the monitor here's a pic of what I've got.
Cheers Brian

Its a while since I fitted one buit from memory, the white plastic top hat thing with the yellow rubber ring on it, you take the rubber ring off and slide that into the back of the monitor frame and then put the rubber ring back on to hold it in place.

The metal spacer ring you put on the threaded rods on the black cross bars.

The large washer then goes over the top of the yellow ring and the nut obvs holds the lot together.

Bottom right nut there is usually a ground strap from the nut to the monitor frame.

I think my technique was to get the top two sitting on first with a bit of a tilt in the monitor and should be enough space to then swing the bottom on.

A bit like the technique you would use to hand a picture on a picture hook, if that makes sense.
