Border Force? Did they intercept and open the parcel?!

Yeah parcel opened and one PCB pack split open. Maybe they took a look at the bag of silica gel balls in the vacuum packed PCBs? - Probably just a random check, its was via DHL & turned up 48 hrs after being shipped from China.

This is amazing. Well done Martin! Would definitely be interested in 3 of these. I’m just hoping you can get the motion controls working for my Afterburner and Outrun deluxe cabs. Baggio8502021-05-10 16:36:16

I thought there was an update on this fantastic project.

OK then, as you asked...

The new boards work fine (which is good!) in the two cabs I’ve tested. Chris has a new CannonBall build which optionally adds extra music form the 3DS/Switch version. There’s a host of other gameplay options and small fixes that kept him busy.

I’ve built a small batch. Some for me to test with and some that will go to people who’ve shown interest and can assist with pre release testing, that’s really just checking the boards work on multiple cabs with different monitors and power supplies etc. Also some additional checks that I’d like answered.

I’ll be making a visit to a v.good OutRun player soon, WC 17th all being well. I’d like to get the steering dialled to the best possible config before shipping the boards mentioned above.

A re-engineering of the board with Surface mount components is underway, it’s actually done but I just need to finalise the shape and connector locations. This will likely be the initial release version 1 board.

Again, fantastic project and great progress. I hope you haven't underestimated the demand, you will sell a ton if it is a fully plug 'n' play solution. I have 4 of the DLX cabs listed and may buy one for each as a backup.

Sorry if I missed it but will they run Pi 3 or Pi 4?

I 100% would love one if they are released.

They will be Ben. :) But it’s just me, working a full time job, with a family and a builder in the middle of renovating our home so it’s quite hectic at the moment, all my spare time is being spent on progressing the project.

They will use Pi4 and it will be supplied with the main PCB. As for demand, we’ll see, I have a guesstimate number in mind I think is realistic, but this is one of the reasons for going surface mount for the majority of components, to reduce my build time.

I'm definitely interested! I'd been wanting to find a Power Drift PCB and make an adaptor for my Out Run DLX, but this is an even better solution particularly as the motion support becomes available

It's not the most convenient cabinet to move and swap PCBs around in
