Ladies and Gentlemen!

The South Coast Slam is back in 2014 and better than ever.

Both a Williams Indiana Jones pinball and Atari System1 Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom videogame are the top prizes and available to be won at the event.

Pinball pledges are now underway both by the NLP and the SCS crew.

What I would like to know is who on UKVAC are happy to lend machines to the show? Van funds should be available. If you have many games to bring PM me and I will find out for you.

The official website is www.southcoastslam.com for the weekend the 19th and 20th April. Friday the 18th is available all day for setup.

Thanks!

I'm happy to loan my Pac-Land cab to the Slam for the weekend, if there's any interest in it. I don't have the means to get it there and back in my own car though unfortunately.

I would be happy to lend my Astro City I have a selection of Neogeo Naomi or a few dedicated PCB's I could bring.

Could you maybe send me a PM of details of the event and how it works. I haven't been to any arcade events before and am keen to go. Is it ok to bring children, I presume so?

Thanks

I'll bring at least one game in which case it'll have to be something that'll fit in the car, eg Mad Planets (need to fix the sound board first), Taitel Gyruss, etc. If I'm feeling super keen I'll arrange something larger so I can bring more. Star Rider would be the obvious ub3r rare choice but the disk players are in storage in the house and the cab is in the (heated) garage out so I'll have to dig my way back in to test stuff nearer the time. Time has a habit of flying though

There's a vicious rumour going around (although not signed in blood yet) that i'm bringing something about this size:

Mr Cmonkey, if you did want to send it and there was any way you could get it to mine, I could include it on the truck rather than drive it down sarrrrf and back.

You do know that the address of the event has changed and the driver should bring the cabs immediately to BR1

Eric, you wouldn't believe how well secured they were in transit.

Its not the haulage company, its them getting smashed loading and unloading that bothers me, my ROTJ got dropped by total accident (on the lorry, not off onto the floor) and has never been 100% right since.

Thanks for the offer James but I couldn't even get the cab to your place as I only have a teeny weeny little Kia Rio hatchback and there's no way it would go in that. If the Slam organisers can somehow get the cab to your place then I'm more than happy for it to ride shotgun with your amazing collection!

Hi guys

As one of the founders/organisers of the South Coast Slam can I firstly thank all those who have already pledged machines or expressed interest in helping out
smiley20.gif
. I know you hear it all the time with these sorts of events ...but we really do rely on people to bring along their games ....no games ...no show.

As Alpha1 has said there *may* be some funding available for transport costs. FREE weekend entry for all machine bringers.

Cheers to Ol and Rav for rallying the UK Vaccers ...Will and myself are pinball guys originally but have been growing the video game side of the Slam over the past few years, and Rav and Ol have been closely involved with us.

After last years break from the Slam we really want to pull out all the stops this year for the 4th SCS - and make it the biggest, brightest, coolest Slam yet. We are feverishly planning stuff, working out how to cram more games in, sorting out epic prizes for the Charity Raffle , the return of the Psych Out Tent, planning the Tournaments etc

The venue is the same as previous years....

The Charmandean Centre, Forest Road, Worthing.

Saturday 19th April and Sunday 20th April (opening hours, ticket prices to be confirmed)

Friday 18th is set up day, though anyone coming along Saturday morning will still be able to setup machine(s)

The Official website will be going live shortly

Report on the 3rd Slam available here

Cheers guys

Do we all want the videogame tournament back again this year?

I know some people didn't get to play some games whilst they were being used for the tourny - but we can make that clearer this year and also let you know when they are available for all to play.
