Oh lordy lordy, lordy.... Number One has arrived!

It will be a little while before I can use in anger, but thanks to everyone on UKVAC that has made this possible.

Absolutely sterling effort - you are all legends!

Great you finally got the drive PCB. I've not quite got all the right bits for the lamp board, but I'll work on it a bit next week in-between other things

Number 10 has landed. And the 834-5809 is superb, it genuinely looks 100 times better than the original SEGA board! If it is possible for a PCB to be cute, then this must be a candidate for the cutest PCB in existence!

Glad you like it.
When you do get it all wired up, keep an eye (finger) on the resistor to check it’s not cooking. Shouldn’t do when in the proper circuit (I thrashed it with 20V and a motor as I didn’t have a lightbulb and 12V AC supply handy)

)

I’m presuming the game does a PWM signal to vary the bulb brightness as there’s no way that board does anything clever, it’s just got two states - bulb on or bulb on via resistor(very dim).

Oh boy, this looks "a bit large" for my machines

Just kidding

Thank you very much John, the look and quality of your reproduction board is awesome!

Let's just set jumper 6 to 2-3 for Space Harrier, and there should be only one thing left to say:

"Welcome to the Fantasy Zone ... Get Ready!"

Finally, after all those years, thanks to your amazing work, my machine might finally move again, yeah!
Can't wait to test it (hopefully soon). What an odyssee ...

Many many thanks,
Andreas

Superb! Always good to know of boards in use and working well.

I tried to stick as much info in the manual as I could to help fix dead boards as they are always fixable

I missed the progress with this work, that is just amazing guys, really amazing

Has anyone used them in Space Harrier yet?

I was supposed to be trying to sort out finding a place to remake the metal covers that are missing on the machine too, but car failed MOT and had to get welding that up, that leads to another and places I emailed never even reply

Wish I had tools to do it all myself, far easier

I’ve shipped over 40 of them now, just a few left to post this month. I’ve not heard back from many, but I know a few UK guys have used them in their Space Harriers successfully.

I need to finish the Afterburner DLX version next (I put a thread in Homebrew on it, but need to finish the design). That’s very similar, but more power.

Nah, sorry, all taken, even prototypes.
I might do another small run at some point, although they may have to cost a little more as I wouldn’t get bulk part discount. Still will be cheap though.

I can always fix originals, I reckon though - I have a test rig, full schematics and alternative parts for obsolete stuff.
