It works but there is a hack needed for it to access the colour part of the board.

Andy.

Could you let me know the hack that is required please? Is the Braze available from any stockist in the UK?

Thank you

Nice work Andy,

Not sure about the 5.00am post though? You need to sort that out!

Cheers for the comments.

@davidbi, the hack was done by Dave2084, you would need to contact him directly and afaik the braze kit is not available over here

@davidbi

Contact P-man on here - I think he's away for a week or so but i'm sure he will respond when he's back. I think he can either sell you a kit or put a kit on your pcb for you.

Don't think anyone in the UK stocks them. Braze is very good at shipping though, very quick and well packed, totally trustworthy and you can pay using PayPal. I think Arcadeshop.com also stock his kits if you want to go to a bigger company. Shipping from them is also pretty darn quick.

The arcade gods are against me today, I have a working boardset and
now the monitor has died. Obviously didn't take to being powered up
again after 29 years

Gutted to say the least, at 2.20am I was considering replacing the monitor until I looked at the time. Going out to do that soon but will check out the broken one wen I pull it, its a Toei CM-A20 and I've never seen one but its totally dead, one minute working fine next minute nothing, no smoke, no pop.

I suspect many of the DoL games might respond like this after 29 years. When I do get delivery of mine and see what's actually inside I was thinking of leaving it in a semi warm place for a good few days and then running a fan heater inside the cab for a while and getting the inside pretty toasty. Then I figure I'll remove the chassis and do some bench tests before power up (which in your cae probably would all have been fine). Anyone have a different strategy?

I'm with Andy on this one. Just do a cursory check for old 10p's shorting things out and the like, then plug the fecker in. But then I'm of the opinion, if it breaks, so what - I'll fix it. I don't need to rely on sending things off to others or anything like that.

I don't want to hijack this resto thread so I'm happy to move this elsewhere but in the above scenario how about a duff regulator or bad HOT on a monitor that ultimatley is attached to an 'irreplacable' HV unit (which in my scenario we assume works) and worse still some tool put the wrong fuse in the monitor back in 1982. How do you get round the dead HV unit without some serious hacking or waiting for a repro to be manufactured....

Maybe I'm different to most. My opinion is one of "such is life, it's only an arcade machine", my life will continue (assuming the machine didn't kill me).
