With you on that, I hated my photo taken and would have just wanted photo's of the Arcades, just wish I could see all of what machines was in the places now as i'm sure a load of memories would come flooding back like when someone reminds you of a toy or something you'd completely forgot all about and something clicks in your head you had one or remember seeing them

Golden Axe summer 1991 Hemsby, I think it was Lucky Strike but need to check. Amazing memories, I used to go in most days 10p a go. I remember a local asked if he could join in and we had two player game. I swear he didn't put any money in and wiggled the joystick and it started a free game.
Mad Dog McCree, I had no idea which year it was and which arcade I saw it in first but I'm going to guess it was Margate at Margate Amusements (It could have been Skegness at one of the amazing arcades there).
Street Fighter II definitely Skegness on the Electrocoin cab it would be 1992 and every arcade you walked past you could hear it.
Ridge Racer stand up at Butlin's Pwllheli 30p a go and must playing it all week consistently along with Aliens Vs Predator! This must have been 94 or 95!
Loads more like The Simpson's, Daytona USA, Hang On sit down, the original Mortal Kombat, Space Pirates and Who Shot Johnny Rock? most of which would be at American Adventure Theme Park.

I starred a the graphics and considered if i wasn't dreaming, there was nothing at the moment ( and in the near future ) that would compare to this beast, it was truly next level.
The soundtrack / attraction mode when seeing the demo and seeing it run on 8 screens was magical to me, the immense force feedback and the slick controls, felt like a new standard in arcade racing and man I loved it.
The eight player setup was also a great addition, my mates and I can finally race together at the same time, with the six of us.
There where many great and good games but this is the one, that stood out for me.

Circa 1988-1990 ... so around 12/13 years old ...
Bubble Bobble, Wonder Boy, Rainbow Islands, Golden Axe, Shinobi, Midnight Resistance, Double Dragon, Robocop, TMNT, a nudey pool game, SF II ... and others I can't think of right now ... all in this place we used to call 'The Caff'
Which is still standing and now up for sale, having been closed and sat doing nothing for the last 15-20 years (just found these pics online

Filled with 20-30 generic jamma cabs, probably running as many bootlegs as possible, surrounded by the smell of greasy fry ups and cigarette smoke ...
I can still remember exactly where those games were placed in here (there was no pool table then I'm sure) and how me and my best mate would meet here every Saturday morning with our £4 weekly wage from our daily paper round, and make it last all day, usually having a 60p bin lid size chip barm for lunch if we hadn't put all our money in the machines by that time ... oh my word how good those chip barms were !!! (crinkle cut chips, loads of butter, cafe ketchup) 😋 Most afternoons were spent watching other people play Happy days ! Sometimes we'd mix it up and get a 'saveaway' train ticket and go watch in amazement older kids absolutely kill it on Street Fighter II in Southport arcades.
Other than that I distinctly remember playing Space Harrier full motion cockpit style thing in Amusements on Llandudno Pier and thinking WTF !!!!

The mention of kung fu master reminds me of the first time I played it.
Had just given blood for the first time and was told to take it easy. Walked to the arcade and there was return of the jedi and kung fu master new in.
Played kung fu master and nearly fainted because the game was that intense.

Awesome memory dive. It's a shame you never got to experience Shinobi back then. I know what you mean about standing watching the attract modes with no money.
Yes a couple of our arcades had too much choice of video games in the 80s especially when we began making them …
Younger players would often stand gob smacked watching the attract screens…. Sometimes for hours having spent their limited daily pocket money?
The other thing was how they left and sang or mimicked the attract sounds too!
“Boop boooop Prepare to qualify” or “Daytonaaaa”. “My daddy’s the sheriff” “you are finished here” (op wolf) to recall a few …also 2p pusher attract themes…. Best though was a guy who knew my name and loved Robocop … soon as he came in he would shout “Norman” in the mode of the game display, bad interpretation 😁😁😁 sad thing was the guy was older in his 50s ? (older than me at that time)
I got my own back replying with Nellie elephant egg vender “ hello , don’t I know you” or the teddy bear egg vender “ I love coins”
Daytona never bothered me as our two twin ones were in old Rhyl sun centre , and CARTIO the queeensferry / mancot go cart track arena coffee bar .. that one sold on to a house in Chester quite soon tho so only emptied them as required. Both low income sites obligation to local councils …. Swimmers don’t carry coins (Spectators do however) CARTIO the patrons had a better drive on the real carts so sited op thunderbolt in there instead with two pool tables which did well for coins.
