Hi guys, another good listen whilst at work this weekend. Apologies for the lengthy feedback but found I had a lot to talk about – feel free to edit accordingly!!
Liked the opening introductions to the Take Hart Theme tune, oh how I loved that programme.
I too tried the Samsung Gear VR last weekend whilst in Edinburgh and was surprised at how much I liked it and no feeling of motion sickness which I do get with the Occulus Rift. At only £80 for the headset it is very accessible too, obviously you need an S6 or S7 already.
Also, I have to agree with car boot prices too. I went to one the other week and one guy had his entire table filled with early console games, PS1 era, but wanted ridiculous money for some non-rare titles. This is a car boot for goodness sake! I wished him well and offered him a hand at the end of the day to put all the stuff back in his car that he wouldn’t’ve sold. Clown!
It was good to hear the return of the 10p Orchestra – one of their best I thought!
At the risk of having the disapproving sheep bleating at me, I do kinda get why some may prefer 1943 over 1942 (cue, sharp intake of breath!!). For me, in any vertical shooter, I appear to be much better at attracting the bullets towards me than I ever am at avoiding the damn things, which 1943 is somewhat more forgiving in than it’s predecessor. Both top games though.
You asked for some feedback on a possible future inclusion of Vic’s Fiddling – (maybe a better title being ‘Vic’s Idle Hands’) – I would warmly welcome such a feature, being an active ‘tinkler’ myself and always looking to improve my knowledge and see what others are doing. If I may suggest though that this might be better suited to some kind of blog, with real words and proper pictures, as I think this subject field would be better conveyed to an audience in this format, as opposed to listening to you trying to describe your handiwork over the audio-waves.
And whilst we are talking of tinkering, thanks for the feedback on Twitter re my recent scratch built arcade stick. Well happy with how it turned out, artwork from Olly really bringing it together. Maybe now, I can stop trying to play mame stuff on a laptop keyboard and get myself onto the Ten Pence Podium…. Super impressed at what my little RPi2b can handle – although it wasn’t happy with Peter Crap Rat, maybe it knew how bad the game really was!!
I’ve had a quick bash at Gunbird (using my shiny new stick!), and whilst I want to love these style of shooters, I am simply pants at them, I will persevere though, however it’s so frenetic, after an hour of playing my button hand is in bits, with cramps that I have never since experienced since finding a bunch of my dad’s mags when I was sixteen!!
Keep flagellating.
