You have to admire the lazyness of most mainstream websites (not including Tony's excellent blog of course) in just copy and pasting their information from elsewhere to secure their ad impressions.

Not to distract from the original story which is great of course!!dj_yt2016-06-02 11:41:25

Comment on the Mirror site:

"The arcade machines alone are worth a fortune, especially if they still work. The space invaders alone is worth more than £2,000"

Deluded

Thats why you can't trust the media, I'm sure many wish they were but sh*t like that doesn't help the cab prices

The Playboy feature is great - we can tick that one off the bucket list. Heffner hasn't rung with an invite for us all to visit the mansion yet, but we can live in hope.

If nothing else it's been interesting how these things go viral. My site shows me where visits come from, and you can see the peaks and troughs in visitors from individual sites as the days go by. The recent interest started with Kotaku putting it on their homepage last Friday night, resulting in massive amounts of traffic. I've no idea how their site works, but many others seem to scrape that content and regurgitate it on their own pages in exactly the same format. I assume the likes of the Mirror see these stories generating clicks and look to copy the content in their own way.

Most sites have a link back to my original article though, and some have been in contact asking if it's OK for them to link.

The article has been viewed over 57,000 times since it went live.

Bottom line is it's one of those stories that's really interesting to collectors and non-collectors alike. So hats off again to the guys here who pulled it off. Who knows, it might lead to more leads on other hidden cabs.

I have another raid-type story from the US coming up on Friday, which is really interesting for completely different reasons, so look out for that.

Wow - a lick of paint! Looks quite smart in dark grey.

It's such a shame - it's a wonderful structure, you would think someone could do something really cool with it. I guess its location is against it being viable though.

I updated this on Facebook yesterday, but now bumping this thread back up in case members don't use Facebook. @retrologistics & @ukvac

It was nine years ago yesterday when this epic event took place. Always nice to look back at this much written about event.
Where are all those machines now?

I still have a Star Fighter
