Thanks for making the effort pal, I appreciate it, even though you beat my humble score. Gotta get back playing his again.

I take your comments on board too, as I have not got either the Taito or the Midway to compare against, I kinda just accept that I have what I have. But it's good to hear about the comparisons between the different games.

The collision detection is always mentioned, but I don't see it, but again maybe that's just because it's all I've ever played?

The bonus ship speed is frustrating that when you just miss it you cannot catch it back up, but again, it's all I've ever had.

Good to hear you just 'played' it and didn't try any scoring tactics.

Yeah it's a different game - and very different tactics needed for both versions. I hadn't realised Zac was a complete re-write so I've learnt something from this thread.

The reason I'm slightly obsessed with the wall of death is that without it I don't see how you can progress beyond about level 5 on the Taito/Midway. I've got as far as I can without using it so need a board set that supports it to get further!

Back to Zac... I reckon 5,000 is achievable - I'll keep plugging away when I get a minute... on a mission now!iamjimmi2015-09-28 21:13:24

Had another few goes myself there .
I haven't noticed the Colision detection
Got 4040 this time so on the way up
It gets a bit sore on the hand after a while ,playing on the machine .
How many shots bring out the UFO ?
What about when you hit it and sometimes get 200
Is that for hitting it sweet ,or is it random

Some good scores coming in. Good to see some renewed interest in this thread.

Not sure if the UFO is based on shot count, hits, or timed. But I think the score is random.
