What a fantastic day!
Big Thanks to Andy and the AC Team and ChuckieEgg for organizing a most memorable event meet. Unrivaled selection of cabs, super chill out area (needed as i was sweating bullets at peak time), super tasty spread too!

I was amazed at how many Vacrs turned up, respect to the Dutchmen, i only managed to speak to a handful, next year i'll try play a bit less. My eyes were fried by the end of the day, and i woke with a serious case of arcade hunchback with a secondary of arcade claw.

I'm fairly new here so its great to get to meet other members in person. The hobby is great for preserving games and cabinets, but some of the knowledge you guys have needs preserved too. I love seeing the enthusiasm and passion that you all have for arcade games. Something that is hard to absorb through just chatting on here. I came away having learned new tech stuff and play tips.

If its on next year, i'm there.

Great pics - thanks for sharing. Glad to see I'm not the only one that needs to wear specs to play games, these days.

I had a fantastic time yesterday well done to Andy and his team for putting on a great venue for us all to enjoy...props to Alex (chuckie egg) for arranging the Vac get together which tied in with the 1st anniversary of Arcade Club in its new location (The Ella Mills building just on the outskirts of Bury town center, also about 3-4mins drive from the M66 for anyone who hasn't experienced the Arcade Club yet
smiley2.gif
)....

Was great to catch up with familiar faces and put faces to names (for me that's what it's all about
smiley4.gif
)....

I've been to Arcade Club several times but tbh I've never seen it as busy as it was on Saturday
smiley3.gif
...and I tip my hat at the bar staff, they were totally rushed off their feet keeping us all in refreshments....well done you guys

The 2nd floor wasn't quite finished but you can see it's gonna be something special, and will look fantastic when all done ....

Looking forward to the next Vac meet there, let's try and make it sooner than later Alex

Just wanted to echo the positive comments on here. I feel I know AC well enough now, but it was great to be there for a slightly different reason, and having the big space to hang around in, eat, drink and actually be able to talk
smiley17.gif
was excellent. I think once Andy & team fills the 2nd floor they'll need a 3rd to create that space again (and then a 4th for more machines ofc).

I know I'm still a vac noob really but it was a great pleasure to meet, see and speak to some of you that I only know via a nick on here.

Definitely definitely bring on next year, and the slight date shuffle is a great idea too.

Thanks again to Andy & the team and the people on here who thought it'd be a good idea

A big "HELL YEAH!" to Andy and the team for hosting such a fantastic day.

I spent most of the day chatting and still probably only spoke to about 10% of the guys 'n girls there (Note to the fortunate 90% that managed to avoid me - your time will come... you cannot escape your destiny).

Thoroughly enjoyed the day. The lanyards worked really well. Loved the little look to the future with the Oculus set up - anyone else throw up after a blast on the driving game?

Alex - thanks so much for getting the ball rolling. Please, please let's make this an annual event!

Till next time.....

I managed to re-arrange plans and promises that I had made to make it to the meet at the last minute and I'm so glad I could. I had a great time. Big thanks to everyone for making this happen. It was my first visit to Arcade Club and I must say that I am very impressed. It really is a great achievement.
Sorry to all the people that I didn't manage to catch up with, especially Nad and Paul. Unfortunately I had a 3 hour drive home so I had to leave earlier than I would have liked.

Looking forward to the next one.

Many thanks to everyone who helped plan to make the meet such a success. It was great to chat and play the machines with such a nice group of folk.

I was thinking it might be nice to record who is who.
PM me numbers, UKVAC form name or real name or both (as you prefer) and I'll edit this post and compile a list (or let me know if you'd rather not be ID-ed).
I know some people had left by the time the photo was taken so I can add them to the list too.

Good idea. It's interesting how we come up with ideas of how people look based on forum names. I was talking to frothmeister about this and imagined him looking like Bluto or Brian Blessed with a massive beard. Don't ask me why. In reality he's nothing like that lol. A perfectly normal looking gentleman I must add :)

I'm number 6 by the way.

Massive thanks to all involved in making this happen, it was a great day and fantastic to finally experience Arcade Club - and to see it so popular! Andy was a great host and made time to chat with anybody and everybody and the whole place has such a good positive vibe. Extra thanks to moomootown for the lift!

Mystery guest?

Gate crasher?

Jamma+ member? ;-)

Time traveller?

Escaped video game character?

Someone used the 'big laser' from Tron and escaped 'The Grid'?

Someone must know!..... :)

I missed the photo but really enjoyed the day! A fantastic arcade setup and it was great to meet a few fellow ukvacers. It taught me that I like driving games and that I only really need a few more cabs.

Edit: scratch that I do need more than a few more lol.
