What popular game did you dislike?

I never start forum threads anywhere normally, but I was just sat here with my mind turning over something that's bugged me for ages, and I'm sure it's not just me. Everyone knows the classics, everyone knows why they were popular, everyone knows they were played to death my most people, but I'm sure everyone has one generally regarded awesome game that for some reason they just couldn't grow to like?

Me personally, and I know I'm definitely a minority on this one, I couldn't then and still can't like Defender! I get why folks like it, and at the time it was very fast paced and playable, but for me it just does nothing, and I can't quite work out why. It could be a control thing as I could never get to grips with the layout and was crap at it, but I don't know, I still can't like it!

Anyone else have this about other games?

yeah defender is a good one so seems you're not in the minority here. I really can't get in to it at all. Same with Centipede, tho I'm not sure if that's popular.

If you go a little bit more modern.. Final Fight, Aliens, AvP... I find them all very dull

He didn't dislike it to start with but Op. Thunderbolt blew his mind the following year and Wolf was subsequently dead to him.

I'm really quite upset that games like Final Fight, Paperboy, Op Wolf & Space Harrier are on the list, I never realised there was an underground feeling of dislike towards them from some gamers

I'm really struggling on this topic, I've thought of one, I did play the game but I never really liked the vector style gfx on Battlezone, I prefered the chunky sprites on other games at the time rather than the boring see through lines on BZ, sorry I'll get my coat

Its not dislike for me its that if I had £1 in my pocket it would go in a fruity before going in a paperboy cab, etc
