The coin door looks nice in black but i think i'd have to chrome it.....been toying with the idea of chroming my MC coin door as it's an Irish cab with a silver coin door anyhow.

May even chrome my house front door also!

As you can see it looks pretty amazing after a few hours of polishing once it was stripped of the black paint. However that buff won't last, so those parts are off to get chromed!

Stay tuned.

Update!

An uber NOS IJ gun handle came from Pinball Heaven today.

Here's the old one so you can see the difference. Not sure if i'll restore the trigger piece or just buy a new one as they aren't much money.

Update!

I still need to take some photos of the new parts I have been gathering over the last 10 months, but they are with the playfield currently so I can't. However this box arrived yesterday

WP_001797.jpg

Opening the box reveals the following parts

WP_001813.jpg

So that's pretty much all the parts I need now, with the others I already have.

In this order this also came:

It was needed as one was missing from the cabinet:

But not anymore

In the box also was the anti-glare Translite glass:

Looking forward to fitting that - might do it in a minute on the head with the translate and take some pix

Also these brand new flipper opto assemblies are REALLY COOL!

Mock up shot once they are fitted:

Checkout these clearcoat vids. This is what is happening to my playfield at the moment

[tube]Q_aHQ_j1uX8[/tube]

These ones I found show a complete touch up, insert re-decal and finally clearcoat process. Crazy stuff!!

Holy sh*t he sands the playfield art!!

He is repainting a part worn to the wood here!

They are just YouTube videos of the clearcoat process. I have to say it looks pretty scary, they sand the playfield!!

mini update.

i'm not planning on putting any toys on the playfield as apart from the ark I think the other IJ ones are naff. It's definitely getting a full LED makeover however.

Currently no updates coming as I have a package stuck in customs which has playfield parts that I need to finish the playfield.

Update to come as soon as I get my hands on it!!

This is without a doubt one of the best restore threads that I have seen. You have inspired me to restore my own IJ. The condition of mine is ok, but what you are doing has really motivated me.

As for the toys, I agree with what you are saying. Most toys for the IJ are quite naff. I'm really looking forward to more of your posts.
