So it's finally getting there!

I just need to fit

1. the gun handle
2. the PCB set (and buy some!)
3. Finish and install the apron.

I would imagine upon first power on there will be a few teething issues!! Hopefully not too many. I am hoping to finish this now for November so watch this space

But in the mean time I couldn't resist doing a mock up of the mirror chromed apron with the apron guard...

Update!



The Gun Rebuild



Ok so I bought new NOS gun handles earlier in the year to use on this. As the ones on the machine were badly scuffed and had also gone a god awful colour. I am pretty sure I could clean them up and get them looking new again, but the scuff marks in the metal were a little deep in places to polish out.

First part was to find the gun handles!

Right time to remember how I took apart the old one

I couldn't actually remember but luckily it was pretty easy to work out. Polished, chromed and new springs at the ready

Installing the microswitch and the trigger, you can see how pulling the trigger activates the switch

Adding the pull back spring. This puts the trigger back into the right place at rest

Other casing added and lined up, ensuring the trigger and micro switch don't move off their pivots!!

All bolts tightened, trigger tested for continuity and gun rebuild done! BOOM.

Update

Ok a few extra things done. The apron is totally finished now and installed. I also got the rails mirror polish chromed to make it really pop.

when fitting the apron I also took the time to fit the L shaped playfield supports and the hand rails.

I had the translite and the anti glare backglass for a while in the machine. But I hadn't fitted any trim. I bought brand new trim for this and installed it last weekend.

The others I had to use a stanley knife and a clean edge and cut to size.

Finally I decided to get a new backbox key lock also. so I bought a NOS one and installed it.

Hole I needed to fill:

NOS kit

Assembled and ready to install

Time to put it in the backbox.

So I am getting back to this machine now..

I have been putting off the PinLED board replacements for a while now, but I have sourced an original sound board and CPU.

I also have a new DMD but i've just seen this..

Very late update...

I have folded the game up, (along with a colour pin2dmd!) and had the game picked up by New Forest Pinball. They are going to perform the PCB repairs on the PCBs i've picked up for this and install them and do any needed tweaks to the game. Since it has been sat so long a rerubber and upgrade to Titans/Superbands is happening too.

Hopefully pictures of a fully functioning machine by end of the month!

In a twist of fate, alpha1 was caught off guard and got raided, ended up selling the Jones pinball for 100 quid

There is an update in that there is no further update. Last pic is of it booting but the playfield wiring has some issues and ground shorts. It's being worked out and taking ages.
