Xbox One and PS4 mega thread

From what I'm reading, doesn't sound like theres a huge amount of PS4 play going on tonight. Sounds like the usual launch day network failures.
Beginning to wonder if any company is actually budgeting and doing the cloud instance provision thing properly. Cloud networks should cope with this kind of stuff handsomely so I can only assume they're simply not investing enough money into their launches, preferring instead to opt for just enough for the post launch window.
I've not heard of a game or hardware launch in a long, long time now that has been a complete success. Debacles are becoming the norm.

Admittedly Microsoft do have their own cloud offering which I guess is bound to help. At the Amazon event in London earlier in the year one of the companies presenting in the keynote explained how they prepared in advance for millions of concurrent players coming online at the launch of a game so it can certainly be planned for and done properly
The thing is Sony knew the pre-order numbers and the fact there's a mandatory update. Kind of blows it is down all day when they have all this information. I would imagine they have shifted a million + though if they aren't stock contended.
Certainly seems to be the interest. I'm sure eventually both will be just as comparable, but for pure day one figures PS4 seems to have shifted more. Who knows? Maybe there's just less of them to go round. They're certainly not as easy to get hold of as the XBOne's
Wow! I can tell you don't live around here. You'll be hard pushed to find PS3 games in any shop, let alone a PS4 !!
(OK, that's a slight exaggeration but Tesco certainly wouldn't have a PS4)
Am still going to resist the temptation to go hunting until at least the new year and Xmas, Car Insurance, House Insurance and everything else is all out of the way. Yep, it all comes up in January!

I just missed getting an XB One by 5 minutes (!) at my local Tesco Extra; we passed the display stand with our trolley doing our 'big' shop and they had them in stock; we asked a nearby assistant who confirmed it. 10 minutes later when I went back after loading our haul into the car they had sold out.
I asked the lady behind the electronics counter and she confirmed they had sold the last one 5 minutes earlier

There was 2 available in Smyths toy store when I asked, they were about to put them on the shelve so I mulled it for about 20 seconds, in that time a foreign dude came up and hovered the last killzone pack.
