I bet if the cab had been a Paperboy or Star Wars or something it would already have been lifted and be in someones garage by now!

whatever happened to that exidy crossbow cab?
Someone from here saved it, any restoration thread?

I saved this one pictured, It litteraly fell apart as I moved it of that heap it was so damp, I did make a start on remaking the sides piecing the original bits together as a template, had to use parts from both sides just to get the shape of the side drawn out to cut which I've done but then came the problem of covering the chipboard, I can't get anything the same as it's a very thin like plastic with Satin finish and if i do it, it's got to be as close to original as possible so I need to source some already covered satin black chipboard to remake the cabinet from, even the artwork was printed direct onto the plastic stuff, not a sticker like on the USA cabs, it's just so different to everything else i've seen so tough job but I will get it done soon

The other Crossbow, Electrocoin Version was Restored and gave it back to Dsyde with a surprise inside for him.

That Sundance storey is classic

I think the first important thing is that these machines are saved even if like that it's a bit of a risk to someone, but thats ok if you can just pull up and grab it, but that story is a bit different because it's a mega rare machine that many people would want it just to show off or sell on, good it all worked out right in the end and Great write up matey

mind you I don't think I would want to get done for theft over there, I think they take a bit harder approach on it over there than here don't they

Look at it like this, someone could of done the same with the Space Harrier in the Carpark, there was even talk from some members about just rolling up in a van at night and taking it, but it turned out to belong to a guy in one of the houses at front of the carpark, so what ever it would of been theft and the owner would of been quite pissed if we hadn't spoke to him and bought it legally, you could of called that abandoned but it wasn't, sure looked like it on bricks in council carpark

Gotta say I'm surprised there isn't more people currently looking for Super Sprint

We just wanna see a happy ending really, with someone that wants one and can find owner and do a deal, I'm pretty sure if I wanted it I could get hold of them and express interest, also would let them know people are going in the place so they might wanna tighten up on security so someone do go in and trash it or rob parts

Missed this thread before! I love super sprint, one of my favourites (along with paperboy, I like the med res system 2 stuff!) from my childhood that I played without fail everytime I went on holiday. I must admit I'm a bit surprised it hasn't been rescued by now whether by contacting the owner or not! Besides being quite a distance from me, it's not something I'd want to chance just taking without asking really!

Anymore news on this? Did anyone save it without telling us? It would be fun to see something like the Sundance saga play out again...

Not that I am aware of. I suspect it will still be there. It was a mission to get to the cab, so getting it out will be pretty impossible

If I new it was there for sure, I’d travel down and get it, but its a long drive from me

I can give you the contact details of someone that can probably check for you. Bear in mind this is a lot more of a complex mission than you think it is

just read that Sundance blog, cracking read!

Yeah legendary tale that one.

Me and TB Lilley actually saw the cab in person a couple years back in California at its new owner's place. Lovely thing in the flesh.
