Looking for some help/suggestions as I’m new to having an arcade machine and have limited knowledge to how expensive things are to repair or if even they’re repairable so any replies advice is appreciated
.
Please This is in no way a dig at any company. I am just seeking other opinions of those who have far more knowledgeable about the subject
I recently sent my my BAS cab that’s been converted MVS cab to company that offer repairs.
It recently stopped working so having been unable to get it get repaired locally I sent it away. I bought as project to make it look like a big red Neo eventually.
They have diagnosed it as having a failed monitor etc
They advised me to not invest in my big ugly cab fixing it and they can re-design one of their existing cabs(why not mine?) to look like Neo geo/lordsvale lookalike for £1000/1200 which I thought was crazy.
To get mine working again I’m looking at a repair bill of £400/600 if they replace the monitor for a similar 26” CRT and do a few other bits then I have to get it shipped back to me for another £100.
Should I scrap it completely, fork out the bill and have it work then continue my restoration job or even look fort it be repaired elsewhere?
Thanks in advance for any replies/helpMoremonj2020-08-08 19:07:43
