Martin today delivered a paperboy to me, well a paperboy that needs alot of work anyhow.

Search started yonks ago, but in March 2010 Nitrus said he knew where one was and could get it, he did and has kept in hold/storage for me since then until I built the gamesroom, I figured as it was half term I should try and get home while I was at home, but a after a short delay it meant today was delivery day.

It was raining pretty bad, and was getting dark out there, my batteries then ran out on my camera, but here are some pics I managed to take (also some from 2 years ago)

Its not the greatest condition, very dirty, top is off it, and its missing most of the top box. Has quite a few dings and some fist side holes. Something I had not realised was the whole side is coming dis-attached from the main body and caused some more wood work damage inside.

Luckily the side art is done so you can rip the old stuff off and fill that hole. The top isn't past fixing either dude

Ofcourse I have no idea if any of it works, good thing is it has the PCBs, (although the back door is currently off and the wires have been cut. It also has a monitor (who knows if its working or not)

So all in all, I have...

2 x Atari System II cabs (1 very solid black one) and 1 fairly damaged white one. (thank you forcerful and Nitrus)

4 x Paperboy PCB sets

2 x AR3

2 x Paperboy Handlebars & Control Panels

2 x Paperboy Marquees (there should be one with this cab, but does not appear to be there) and one NOS one I bought from the states.

1 x Set of original blue NOS Hunt Wild grips

1 x Set of Atari System II repro artworkd from the states

and 2 lots of wiring, power bricks etc inside the 2 cabs.

1 x black screen bezel/surround (thank you Kdoe)

1 x Med Res Monitor

Some other metal work for the cab (thank you Kdoe)

2nd coin door (thank you Alpha1).

So there is shed loads of work to be done, thankfully there have been some mega restos on KLOV with plenty of photos, so come the day I actually start to sort it out, hopefully I can make one lovely looking full worker out of them.

hhmmm, the one I have in my loft is a lot better than the one on it. It just needs a good clean, it has spent 2 years waiting for me I guess and 16 years before that sat in storage in an arcade operators back room. You'll make a minter and then have a second child and decide the VACcing isn't for you so will post a "Free: Paperboy - pickup this w/e or it goes under tarp for the gypsies".

I had the 2nd child last October and sold my Zac cab...........then I saw the outrunners, so the empty space only lasted 2 weeks. It won't be a a fast project, I need to finish off the chalet first, so probably won't even get to look at the cabs until mid August at the earliest, aside a bit of spring cleaning. I need to source the white vinyl to go on the black cab too. I want it looking minty mint when I am done. The chalet is going to be a real 80s room, got myself some old advertising signs from back in the day, a nice old pepsi ice bucket, all sorts, it'll be like going to a beach bar with a couple of 80's classics once its done.
